You have probably noticed that the teachings of the Bible have become politically incorrect. This is a relatively new thing. When I was growing up, Judeo-Christian beliefs were generally accepted. We knew that a man was a man and a woman was a woman. A man couldn’t get pregnant, and you couldn’t just decide to be something else and change your pronouns. We knew that homosexuality was a sin. The Bible was accepted as THE source of Truth.
But in today’s world, it has become unacceptable, if not dangerous, to speak the Truth on these matters. In fact, the freedom of speech, which was once held dear, has been replaced with a new rule: If you don’t agree with me, you’re a hater and you spread lies, so you must and will be canceled. The Bible says,
“Woe to those who call evil good
and good evil,
who put darkness for light
and light for darkness,
who put bitter for sweet
and sweet for bitter.” Isaiah 5:20 NIV
Many Christians have begun to bend with the wind. The pressure of our culture has convinced them to serve the god of this world. But the Bible says,
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2 NIV
It will only become increasingly more difficult to stand with the Truth of God’s Word. If you can’t stand now, how will you stand later when it gets really tough?
God warned Jeremiah,
“If you stumble in safe country,
how will you manage in the thickets by the Jordan?” Jeremiah 12:5 NIV
We must make a choice. Will we trust in God or will we allow ourselves to bend in the wind?
“… Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve … As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15 NIV Read full chapter
