Do you ever get stumped? You just don’t know if it is God’s will for you do a certain thing. You think it might be, but you aren’t sure. An opportunity came to me recently, but I didn’t know what to do. I searched the Scriptures to find out and the Lord answered my prayer. This is how I found my answer.
1. Pray and ASK God to guide you.
The writer of Hebrews prayed, “May the God of Peace . . . equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him through Jesus Christ. . .” Hebrews 13:20-21
Jesus said to pray like this, “Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Mathew 6:10
King David prayed, “I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul. . . Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground.” Psalm 143:8-10
2. Seek Wisdom
“If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.” James 1:5
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6
3. Search God’s Word – His will is revealed in Scripture.
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. “Psalm119:105
“Be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is . . .” Romans 12:2
4. Consider God’s Heart of Love
The better I know God, the easier it will be to know what He wants me to do. I need the mind of Christ. I need to know His heart. I have to remind myself that it isn’t about me, it’s about the things He cares about.
“What good is it my brothers if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, “Go, I wish you well. . . but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” James 2:14-17
“Love your neighbor as yourself.” Romans 13:9
“Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Matthew 11:29
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” John 3:16
Jesus said, “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve” Mark 10:45
“Instead of being motivated by selfish ambition or vanity, each of you should, in humility, be moved to treat one another as more important than yourself. Each of you should be concerned not only about your own interests, but the interests of others as well. You should have the same attitude toward one another that Christ Jesus had, who though he existed in the form of God did not regard equality with God as something to be grasped, but emptied himself by taking on the form of a slave, by looking like other men, and by sharing in human nature. He humbled himself, by becoming obedient to the point of death—even death on a cross!” Philippians 2:3-8
Remember when we used to say, “What would Jesus do?” That was very popular in the 90’s. I think we need to get back to it! Because, really, isn’t that the answer to our question?
With Love, Cindy

Do you know Jesus?
If you have never asked Jesus to be your Savior, you can do it now. He loves you more than you can comprehend, and it will change your life forever.
“IF YOU CONFESS WITH YOUR MOUTH, ‘JESUS IS LORD,’ AND BELIEVE IN YOUR HEART THAT GOD RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD, YOU WILL BE SAVED. FOR IT IS WITH YOUR HEART THAT YOU BELIEVE AND ARE JUSTIFIED, AND IT IS WITH YOUR MOUTH THAT YOU CONFESS AND ARE SAVED. AS THE SCRIPTURE SAYS, ANYONE WHO TRUSTS IN HIM WILL NEVER BE PUT TO SHAME.” ROMANS 10:9-11
