Verse for Meditation, 9/28/23

“I make known the end from the beginning,
from ancient times, what is still to come.
I say, ‘My purpose will stand,
and I will do all that I please.” Isaiah 46:10 NIV

My Thoughts: God is in control. He has made known what is yet to come.

Quote of the Week, 9/27/23

“The case can be made that every corruption of biblical Christianity begins by compromising the principle of sufficiency… Every deviation from Christianity established by Christ and the apostles begins by adding to the Bible or by taking away from it. Every deviation is the Bible plus or minus something.”

Author unknown

In Deuteronomy 4:2 Moses declares, “You shall not add to the word which I am commanding you, nor take away from it, that you may keep the commands of the Lord your God which I command you.”

“I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll. And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll.” Revelation 22:18-19 NIV

Quote of the Week, 9/13/23

Neither bad choices nor the injustices done to a person must ever keep a child of God from completing God’s calling.”

David Jeremiah

Read Judges 11:1-11 to see how God called a most-unlikely person to fight Israel’s enemies, Jephthah, the son of a prostitute. Despite his many flaws, he is listed in Hebrews 11’s Hall of Faith. God can use anyone who puts their trust in Him. He doesn’t only use the “perfect people”.
