Reflecting on God’s Creation

1-minute devotion for 10/26/25

“When I consider your heavens,
    the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
what is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them?” Psalm 8:3-4

Facts you may not know:

  1. Every star you see in the night sky is bigger and brighter than our sun! (according to NASA)
  2. Astronomers estimate that the universe could contain up to one septillion stars – that’s a one followed by 24 zeros.

How great is our God!

Finding True Riches in Faith

1-minute devotion for Monday, 9/22/25

“And if our hope in Christ is only for this life, we are more to be pitied than anyone in the world.” 1 Corinthians 15:19 NLT

Those who teach that Jesus is here to give you lots of money must have never read this verse! Following Jesus is a narrow road. Those who are following Jesus to get rich may want to check which road they’re on. (See Matthew 7:13-15)

Overflowing With Thankfulness

1-minute read for Thursday, 6/26/25

“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him,  rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.” Colossians 2:6-7 NIV

Thank you to all those people who, by serving God, have influenced our lives for Christ.

Why Each Soul Matters

1-minute read Verse for Meditation, 2/20/25

“Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’  I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.” Luke 15:4-7 NIV

The lost sheep symbolizes just one sinner who repents. That is how valuable each person is to God! (Jeremiah Study Bible Notes)

Tuesday’s Verse, 10/8/24

“That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day.  For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!  So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.” 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 NLT

Verses for Meditation, 11/16/23

“I am always with you;
you hold me by my right hand.
You guide me with your counsel,
and afterward you will take me into glory.
Whom have I in heaven but you?
And earth has nothing I desire besides you.
My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart

and my portion forever.” Psalm 73:23-26 NIV (emphasis mine)

Friday’s Verse, 10/27/23

“Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth.” Colossians 3:1-2 NLT Read full chapter

Verses for Meditation, 8/3/23

“For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 NIV

My Thoughts: May we never lose sight of the fact that “This world is not our home.”
