Quote of the Week, 2/14/24

Knowledge of God’s Word can help us to discern whether or not our desires come from the Holy Spirit. We must test our inclinations against Scripture—the Holy Spirit will never prod us to do anything contrary to God’s Word. If it conflicts with the Bible, then it is not from the Holy Spirit and should be ignored.

Monday’s Verse, 2/12/24

“Seek the Lord while he may be found;
    call on him while he is near.
Let the wicked forsake their ways
    and the unrighteous their thoughts.
Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them,
    and to our God, for he will freely pardon.” Isaiah 55:6-7 NIV

Sunday’s Memory Verse, 2/11/24

Jesus said, “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and remind you of all that I said to you.” John 14:26 NASB

My thoughts: Has the Holy Spirit ever reminded you of a Scripture right when you needed it? The more you read and study the Bible, the more this will happen!

Verses for Meditation, 2/8/24

“The Lord is slow to anger but great in power; the Lord will not leave the guilty unpunished.” Nahum 1:3

My thoughts: Nahum prophesied about the destruction of Nineveh and Assyria, one of the most barbaric peoples that ever existed. These verses bring to mind the evil terrorist organization Hamas, which is responsible for the cruel atrocities inflicted on the Jewish people on October 7.

Monday’s Verse, 2/5/24

“The Lord is exalted, for he dwells on high;
    he will fill Zion with his justice and righteousness.
 He will be the sure foundation for your times,
    a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge;
    the fear of the Lord is the key to this treasure.” Isaiah 33:5-6 NIV
