Monday’s Verse, 7/19/21

“Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”

17 And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. 2 Kings 6:16-17 NIV Read full chapter

Quote of the Week, 7/14/21

When we go through difficulty, the love of another person is the warm blanket of affection that drives the cold away.”

david jeremiah

“Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labor:
10 If either of them falls down,
one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls
and has no one to help them up.
11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.
But how can one keep warm alone?
12 Though one may be overpowered,
    two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 NIV

People Who Make Wise Decisions Do This

Making a big decision can be really scary. Whether it’s concerning your children, your parent, or just about anything of importance – You need God’s guidance.

Sometimes, because we don’t know what the future holds, it is even harder to make the right decision. If only we knew how our situation was going to unfold, we would know what to do now. The importance of making a good decision may be heightened by having limited funds. Financially, you can’t afford to make a mistake!

Nowhere is this more true than when making decisions about long term care with an elderly parent. This is when trust in the faithfulness of God is vital. We must pray for the wisdom we need, and then trust that He will lead us. God has given us these promises:

“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” James 1:5 NIV Read full chapter

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart
    and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV Read full chapter

No matter what situation you’re facing, you can ask God for wisdom and trust Him to guide you. You may not have an angel show up at your door with exact instructions, but you can still trust God to lead you.

Do we have enough faith to take God at His Word?

“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1 NIV Read full chapter

“For we live by faith, not by sight.” 2 Corinthians 5:7 NIV Read full chapter

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7 NIV Read full chapter

Our Prayer

Father, We ask for your wisdom. We thank you because you have promised to give it generously. We trust you to make our paths straight because we trust in you. Lord, we live by faith in your Holy Word. We thank you for guiding us and giving us wisdom. We thank you for loving us and watching over us every day. Your are our faithful God. We put our trust in your loving kindness. Thank you for giving us the peace that passes understanding. Thank you for guarding our hearts and our minds, as we trust in you. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

s

Trust your loving Father to guide you along life’s paths. He loves you. He is faithful!
