“Satan does not usually attack truth head-on. He questions it, reshapes it, and mixes it with just enough errorto make it attractive.”

Now the serpent was more cunning than any animal of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God really said, ‘You shall not eat from any tree of the garden’?” The woman said to the serpent, “From the fruit of the trees of the garden we may eat; but from the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat from it or touch it, or you will die.’” The serpent said to the woman, “You certainly will not die! “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May they prosper who love you.”
I was reading the 14th chapter of John, and something jumped out at me because Jesus said it three times in this one chapter.
“If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, so that He may be with you forever;the Helper is the Spirit of truth…” John 14:15-17 NASB
“The one who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and the one who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will reveal Myself to him.” (verse 21)
“Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will follow My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our dwelling with him.The one who does not love Me does not follow My words…” (verses 23-24
That Jesus repeated this three times in this short passage tells me it is very important. That brings the question to mind: what commands?
I would say that includes everything Jesus taught us and told us to do. The red letters might be a good place to start!

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May they prosper who love you.” Psalm 122:6NASB
Over twenty years ago, I became a special education teacher. I quickly realized that I couldn’t make a difference in every student’s life. But the Lord planted in me the idea that if I could make a difference in just one student’s life, I had accomplished something wonderful.
That’s when I learned the Story of the Starfish. It made such a huge impression on me that I hung a dried starfish on my desk lamp as a reminder.
The Starfish Story – Adapted from The Star Thrower by Loren C. Eiseley
A young girl was walking along a beach where thousands of starfish had been washed up during a terrible storm. When she came to each starfish, she would pick it up and throw it back into the ocean. People watched her with amusement.
She had been doing this for some time when a man approached her and said, “Little girl, why are you doing this? Look at this beach! You can’t save all these starfish. You can’t begin to make a difference!”
The girl seemed crushed, suddenly deflated. But after a few moments, she bent down, picked up another starfish, and hurled it as far as she could into the ocean. Then she looked up at the man and replied, “Well, I made a difference to that one!”
This is the same idea the Lord spoke to my heart about my blog: Don’t pay attention to numbers. Write for individual people. If just one person is encouraged, that’s something wonderful.
Look around for your starfish – someone you can encourage, or maybe even introduce to Jesus. Now that’s something wonderful!

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May they prosper who love you.”
“As I look back, I see more clearly that every step, the missteps as much as the faithful strides, has been held within the hands of a gracious God. The longer I walk with Him, the more I realize that growth in Christ is not about achievement but surrender; not about strength but dependence.” Bruce Cooper, The Clarity That Comes With Age

Yes! The vast majority of historians and biblical scholars, both religious and secular, agree that Jesus of Nazareth was a real historical person. His physical existence in first-century Palestine is considered a well-established historical fact.
Did He claim to be the only way to God?
Yes! Jesus said,
“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6 NIV
Is the New Testament Historically Reliable Literature?
Yes! The authenticity of the New Testament is overwhelming: there are about 25,000 early manuscripts. In comparison, the Gallic Wars written by Caesar in the first century BC has only 10 early manuscripts.
What will you do?
Still unsure? Please watch the video below before you decide. (Under 5 minutes)
If you have never put your faith and trust in Jesus, you can do it now. He loves you more than you can comprehend, and it will change your life forever. Pray now:
Lord Jesus, I come before you and confess that I am a sinner. Jesus, I believe that you died on the cross and that Almighty God raised you from the dead. I pray that you will forgive me of all my sins. I choose today to trust and follow you with my whole heart. Amen.
“IF YOU CONFESS WITH YOUR MOUTH, ‘JESUS IS LORD,’ AND BELIEVE IN YOUR HEART THAT GOD RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD, YOU WILL BE SAVED. FOR IT IS WITH YOUR HEART THAT YOU BELIEVE AND ARE JUSTIFIED, AND IT IS WITH YOUR MOUTH THAT YOU CONFESS AND ARE SAVED. AS THE SCRIPTURE SAYS, ANYONE WHO TRUSTS IN HIM WILL NEVER BE PUT TO SHAME.” ROMANS 10:9-11
If you prayed that prayer, please message me in the comments section with any questions you may have. I would love to hear from you!
Read the Bible every day so that you can learn how to follow Jesus. The Gospel of John is a good place to start.
There is nothing more loving you can do for your children than to instill in them a love for God’s Word and teach them to pray by your example.
“We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power, and the wonders he has done. He decreed statutes for Jacob and established the law in Israel, which he commanded our ancestors to teach their children, so the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children. Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds but would keep his commands.” Psalm 78:4-7

I realize that some of the sinful ways in my past were a reaction to the pain of rejection and hurt in my life. For that reason, I will not judge others. Instead, I wonder, what pain did she experience that led her down this dark path?
“When he (Jesus) saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.” Matthew 9:36
“[a]Do not judge and criticize and condemn [others unfairly with an attitude of self-righteous superiority as though assuming the office of a judge], so that you will not be judged [unfairly]. Matthew 7:1 AMP
[a]This is not a prohibition of judgment, nor is it a command to stop using godly wisdom, common sense, and moral courage together with God’s written word to discern right from wrong, to distinguish between morality and immorality, and to judge doctrinal truth. There are many judgments that are not only legitimate, but are commanded (cf John 7:24; 1 Cor 5:5, 12; Gal 1:8, 9; 1 John 4:1-3; 2 John 10)

“Beware of supposing that a teacher is to be trusted because, although he holds some unsound views, he yet ‘teaches a great deal of truth.’ Such a teacher is precisely the man to do you harm: poison is always most dangerous when it is mixed with wholesome food.” J.C. Ryle
Think about this: People would never follow a false teacher unless he mixed truth with his unbiblical ideas.
“I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel — which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse! As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse!” Galatians 1:6-9

Why do people believe they can change their gender? Why do they murder their unborn babies? People insist on many things today that are in conflict with science. Yet they believe them!
There is a case before the U.S. Supreme Court right now to determine if a young man should be allowed to swim on the women’s swim team. Propaganda is more powerful than we imagine. People didn’t believe these lies out of the blue. Propaganda has convinced them that they are true.
We may think we would never fall for propaganda and lies. But there is only one way to protect yourself: Study the Bible. God has given us this treasure so that we will have the source of truth. We don’t have to wonder. We can know what is true.
” … wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth … ” 2 Thessalonians 2:10
Reflect on This:
Watching college basketball is my hobby. When a ref’s call is questioned, the coach can request a review. From your television screen, it looks like a bad call. But when the broadcast crew shows you the play from a different angle, it becomes clear that the call was correct!
In a news report, a person looks guilty of murder. But on another channel, when seen from a different angle, it looks like the shooter fired in self-defense.
This is called spin. In other words, the report you see could be biased, intended to present a favorable (or unfavorable) impression.
“There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.” Proverbs 14:12
“A prudent person sees evil and hides himself; But the naive proceed, and pay the penalty.” Proverbs 27:12 NASB
Conclusion: Things are not always what they seem.
