Recently I heard a message that compared the gifts of the Spirit (miracles, healing, tongues,etc.) with the fruit of the Spirit – listed here. It was pointed out that gifts come suddenly, but fruit is cultivated and grows slowly. (The speaker seemed to value the fruits more than the gifts.)
