Love Does Not Affirm A Dangerous Path

We must not affirm sinful behavior because it has become acceptable in our culture. If you aren’t sure about which behaviors are evil and/or dangerous, the truth can be found in the Bible. God’s Word is Truth and the final authority. The Word says,

“Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.” 1 Corinthians 13:6 NIV

Going along with anything and everything is not love. Sin brings pain and heartache. It always does. That’s why God warns us against it.

Standing for truth isn’t hard to do when evil is something society detests. But what about when sinful behavior is something our culture affirms? What sin does our society affirm? All you have to do is watch TV to find out. TV is filled with shows that seek to normalize sinful behaviors such as adultery, homosexuality, abortion, and transgender ideology.

I never thought I’d see the day when women would celebrate because they had won the right to murder their unborn baby. But many women in America demand abortion rights during all months of pregnancy, and they call it healthcare. That is not healthcare. It’s killing your baby for convenience. If we’re going to have this discussion, we should at least be honest about it.

There’s a reason abortion advocates call it healthcare. It’s more palatable to call it “healthcare” or “women’s rights” than to call it what it is: murder.

Abortion is just one evil that our culture affirms. There are many others. My question for you is: Will you love? Or will you affirm evil? Affirming evil is not love. It takes courage to stand up for what is right.

“Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.” 1 Corinthians 13:6 NIV

At one time, I didn’t understand this verse. Why would anyone delight in evil? Now I understand.

Engaging in sinful behavior is a very dangerous path. Will you stand up for truth to protect the innocent and/or the misinformed? It won’t be easy, but it will be loving.

The World promotes sinful behavior through propaganda and lies.

” … wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.” 2 Thessalonians 2:10

Deception is the work of Satan.

” … that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world … ” Revelation 12:9 ESV

Jesus said, “You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your fatherโ€™s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” John 8:44 (emphasis mine)

FACT: “A new study from the Williams Institute at UCLA School of Law finds that 81% of transgender adults in the U.S. have thought about suicide, 42% of transgender adults have attempted it.” UCLA School of Law

FACT: “According to Gissler et al. (2014), suicide rates for women directly after having abortions are three times higher than suicide rates for women overall.” Georgia College

FACT: LGBTQ+ young people are more than four times as likely to attempt suicide than their peers (Johns et al., 2019; Johns et al., 2020).

We do not stand for truth because we hate. We stand for truth because we love. We love the ones who are being deceived and led astray by propaganda and lies. It’s time to speak up.

Finding Worth in God’s Eyes

Verses for Meditation for 9/18/25

Jesus said, “Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God.  Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Donโ€™t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.” Luke 12:6-7 Read full chapter

Quote of the Week for 9/17/25

โ€œWhat God wants from me is a life fighting for truth.โ€ โ€“Charlie Kirk

What God wanted from Charlie, He also wants from you and me. God’s Word is our source of truth.

โ€œLet us not become weary in doing good,ย for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”ย  Galatians 6:9

This is the verse that has been on my mind all week. Many things can make us weary, but we must keep going. We must continue in the ministry God has given us. This is when we discover that the Lord really is our strength!

The Promise of His Return

1-minute devotion for Tuesday, 9/16/25

Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say, โ€œWhere is this โ€˜comingโ€™ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.โ€ …

“But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:3,4,8,9

“Thousands of years have passed since Jesus ascended into heaven, promising to return for His faithful ones (John 14:1โ€“4;ย Revelation 22:12). Scoffers point out the lapse of time and mock those who still wait and yearn for His appearing.” (Got Questions.org)

“There is God’s timetable and there is ours. From a human perspective, the word “near” passed its outer limits about 1,800 years ago. According to God’s calendar, it’s like we’re only a couple of days into the wait.” Amir Tsarfati, from his book Revealing Revelation

Are You Prepared to Defend Your Faith?

1-minute devotion for Monday, 9/15/15

… but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect” 1 Peter 3:15 ESV

I started reading a book recently titled TACTICS, by Greg Koukl. I highly recommend it to anyone who desires to talk to others about Jesus. The book provides the game plan for communicating the compelling truth about Christianity with confidence and grace.

Making Disciples: The True Call of the Gospel

Jesus said, “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to follow all that I commanded you…” Matt 28:19-20

The command of the Great Commission is to โ€œmake disciples.โ€ That means to teach or train people to follow and obey Christ.

Some churches are eager to “get people saved”, but they ignore all Scripture that makes people uncomfortable. Instead, they present Jesus as the way to riches and success.

Is this “easy salvation” the true Gospel? If it isn’t, we must ask ourselves this: Are people really getting saved?

What about “Take up your cross and follow me.” ?

Jesus said, ” โ€œWhoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.” (Luke 9:23)

What about “The narrow gate“?

Jesus said, โ€œEnter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.” Matthew 7:13-14 ESV

The Apostle Paul warned the Corinthian Church,

“But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpentโ€™s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the Spirit you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough.” 2 Corinthians 11:3-4 Read full chapter

The KJV says it like this:

“For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus …”

What is another Jesus? It’s a created god they named “Jesus.” It is an idol. It is not the King of Kings and Lord of Lords of the Bible!

The devil will try to lead people astray by attracting them to a different Jesus and a different gospel.

“For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine.ย Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.ย ย They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.” 2 Timothy 4:3-4

My thoughts: We better make sure we are leading people to the authentic Jesus, not “another Jesus.” The fact that a preacher is popular and draws big crowds means nothing. That isn’t the basis for judging whether or not the message is Biblical. Examining the Bible is!

“Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.” Acts 17:11

People who follow a false gospel often fall away in difficult times. I’ve seen it happen with my own eyes. It almost happened to me. If you want to know more about my experience with a false gospel, see my post Rescued From Word of Faith.

Do You Need Wisdom Today?

1-minute devotion for Tuesday, 9/9/25

“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.  That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.  Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.” James 1:5-8 Read full chapter

Commentary: Those with wisdom know what to do in the midst of confusing circumstances – a clarity that only God can give. (Jeremiah Study Bible Notes)

The Mustard Seed: Understanding God’s Kingdom

1-minute devotion for Friday, 9/5/25

Then Jesus asked, โ€œWhat is the kingdom of God like? What shall I compare it to? It is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his garden. It grew and became a tree, and the birds perched in its branches.โ€ Luke 13:18-19

When I was a little girl about 6 or 7 years old, I was given a white Bible that zipped up. The zipper was connected to a little chain and on the end was a glass marble with a mustard seed inside. I didn’t understand the significance of the mustard seed then. But I do now.

My pastor described it like this: Looking at a mustard seed is like looking at one pixel of a photo. You have no idea what you’re looking at. Even if you double the number of pixels over and over and over, you still have no idea what you’re looking at! We can’t see what it is because we’re too close to it! WE CAN’T SEE THE BIG PICTURE! BUT GOD CAN!

Think about it!
