β€œFor it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.” Philippians 2:13 (NASB)

“This verse affirms that God Himself works within us to fulfill His purposes. Our ability to perform works that please God is not a matter of our own strength or wisdom; it is God who enables and directs our efforts in accordance with His will.” Bruce Cooper

Verses for Meditation, 9/19/24

Jesus said, β€œEnter through the narrow gate.Β For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.Β But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” Matthew 7:13-14 NIV

Verse for Meditation, 9/5/24

“What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.” James 4:14 NIV

Today I turned 73! It crossed my mind just how fleeting my youth had been. It seems like yesterday when I was a college student, when I was a new mother, when my children were adorable little toddlers learning letters and numbers. How did it go by so fast? (And who is that old lady in my mirror?)

Then I thought about what the Bible says,

“You areΒ merelyΒ a vapor [like a puff of smoke or a wisp of steam from a cooking pot] that is visible for a little while and then vanishes [into thin air].” James 4:14 AMP

Our present life here on this earth is like a vanishing mist. Eternity is forever! I’m beginning to understand how quickly this life passes by. But eternity with Jesus awaits all of us who believe and trust in Him. Now that gives us a lot to think about!
