Certain Women

From the beginning of time, women have played a critical role in God’s plan, many times unaware of their significance. It is not the smartest, the prettiest, or the most talented. It is the one whose heart is surrendered to God that He will use.

“Now it came to pass, afterward, that He went through every city and village, preaching and bringing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God. And the twelve were with Him,  and certain women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities—Mary called Magdalene, out of whom had come seven demons,  and Joanna the wife of Chuza, Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others who provided for Him from their substance.” Luke 8:1-3 NKJV

This wonderful song is dedicated to all the women serving Jesus today. Many thanks to FairFarmHand79!

“I love the Lord, for he heard my voice;
he heard my cry for mercy.
Because he turned his ear to me,
I will call on him as long as I live.” Psalm 116:1-2 NIV

A Verse for Meditation, 1/28/21

“Children are a heritage from the Lord,
    offspring a reward from him.
Like arrows in the hands of a warrior
are children born in one’s youth.
Blessed is the man
whose quiver is full of them.” Psalm 127:3-5a NIV

Quote of the Week, 1/27/21

“Believers talk about trusting in the Lord with their whole heart and refusing to lean on their own understanding, but no one really knows what that means until circumstances cast them headfirst into a dark and painful place. If we give ourselves fully to God in those moments, we will obtain keepsakes of Him to treasure now and forever.”

Sunday’s Memory Verse, 1/24/21

“The Lord is compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger, abounding in love.
He will not always accuse,
    nor will he harbor his anger forever;
10 he does not treat us as our sins deserve
or repay us according to our iniquities.” Psalm 103:8-10 NIV

In the Day of Trouble

Let this verse speak loudly to you today.

“The Lord is good,
A stronghold in the day of trouble,
And He knows those who take refuge in Him.” Nahum 1:7 NASB 1995

He knows those who are looking to Him for protection in the day of trouble. That should take away all anxiety and fear because you know He is with you. He has not left you alone. He knows you are trusting in Him.

A refuge is a shelter and protection from danger. It’s like hiking in the woods when suddenly the temperature drops to below zero and a blinding blizzard rushes in. A voice behind you says, “Come this way. Take refuge from the storm.”

Will you take refuge in Him? Are you looking to Him for protection? Or do you ignore the invitation to take His hand?

“Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!” Psalm 34:8 NLT

“Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! ” Psalm 107:8-9

“I remain confident of this:
I will see the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living.” Psalm 27:13 NIV

“For God is good – or rather, of all goodness He is the Fountainhead.”

Athanasius of Alexandria

Pray now and thank God for His goodness and all He has done for you and others.

Verses for Meditation, 1/21/21

And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” Revelation 21: 3-4 NIV
