Friday’s Verse, 7/10/20

“And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. 19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.” Ephesians 3:18-19 NLT

Thursday’s Verse, 7/9/20

“Unless the Lord had helped me,
I would soon have settled in the silence of the grave.
I cried out, “I am slipping!”
but your unfailing love, O Lord, supported me.

When doubts filled my mind,
your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer.”
Psalm 94:17-19 NLT

Quote of the Week, 7/8/20

We learn to believe by believing. We learn to love by loving. The practice of acting on a certain thing, even (or especially) when feeling is absent, embodies the entire “how” of growth.

Tuesday’s Verse, 7/7/20

“And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him.  Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.” Colossians 2:6-7 NLT

When Life Is Upside Down, Trust in God

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart
    and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV

God has promised that if we trust in Him with our whole heart, He will make our paths straight.

This reminds me of the Israelites who wandered around the desert for 40 years because they were not submitted to God’s will. If only their path had been straight! They would have arrived in the Promised Land in record time. When our path is straight, we are on the right path!

“Those who know your name trust in you,
for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.” Psalm 9:10 NIV

“You will keep in perfect peace
    those whose minds are steadfast,
because they trust in you.” (NIV) Isaiah 26:3 NIV

“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” Hebrews 11:6 NIV

Lord, Help us to trust in you in every circumstance, in every trial, in all things that come our way. You are able to do “immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine.” You love us and we put our trust in you. You are the strong tower we run to. You are our strength.

Thursday’s Verse, 7/2/20

“Whom have I in heaven but you?
And earth has nothing I desire besides you.
My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart
and my portion forever.” Psalm 73: 25-26 NIV
