  1. Cindy, thank you for lifting up Proverbs 8:17. It’s a verse that refuses to let us settle for a casual relationship with God. “Diligently seek” is not passive language—it’s the vocabulary of pursuit, hunger, and intentionality. Wisdom doesn’t hide from us, but she also doesn’t offer herself to the half‑interested. God honors those who come with a steady, seeking heart.

Spurgeon’s reminder is exactly right: knowing God is inseparable from knowing His Word. We don’t stumble into intimacy with Him by accident. The Scriptures are where His character, His promises, and His ways confront our assumptions and reshape our desires. The more we seek Him through His Word, the more we discover that He has already been seeking us.

Your post is a needed nudge in a distracted age. God is not distant, but He is not discovered by drift. He is found by those who turn toward Him with intention, with honesty, and with a willingness to be changed. Thank you for calling us back to that kind of pursuit—steady, sincere, and rooted in the God who delights to be found.
