Is It a Masquerade?

1-Minute Devotion for Thursday, 9/10/26

“You seem so gullible: you believe whatever anyone tells you!”

Do you know who said that? The Apostle Paul said that!

In his second letter to the Corinthians, the Apostle Paul says,

“You seem so gullible: you believe whatever anyone tells you even if he is preaching about another Jesus than the one we preach, or a different spirit than the Holy Spirit you received, or shows you a different way to be saved. You swallow it all.” 2 Corinthians 11:4 TLB

In the passage above, the Apostle Paul is warning the Corinthian church. Are there preachers who preach “another Jesus” today? What would that look like?

To answer that question, we must look closely at how the Bible describes Jesus and learn from what He said and did. If the Jesus being preached doesn’t align with that, it is a “different Jesus”. Wouldn’t you agree?

Some say, “If people are getting saved in those churches, what difference does it make?” Well, Paul thought it made a big difference. He said,

“I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ.” 2 Corinthians 11:3

Paul goes on to say,

“For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.” verses 13-15

The only way to know “The Authentic Jesus” is by reading the Bible.
