Quote of the Week for Wednesday, 8/12/26
“This is what the past is for! Every experience God gives us, every person He puts in our lives is the perfect preparation for the future that only He can see.” Corrie Ten Boom
In her famous book, The Hiding Place, Corrie reveals the horrors of the Holocaust along with the miracle of God’s love.
“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:10 NLT
In His Love, Cindy

Cindy, what a beautiful and timely reminder. I’ve actually listened to The Hiding Place on Audible, which obviously makes it a rather different experience from reading it, but Corrie ten Boom’s story and her extraordinary faith still come through so powerfully.
What strikes me most about her story is how God can take even the darkest and most painful experiences and somehow use them for purposes we cannot see at the time. That doesn’t make the suffering itself good, but it reminds us that suffering does not have the final word.
I love that quote about every experience and every person God places in our lives being preparation for a future only He can see. Ephesians 2:10 fits so beautifully alongside it too. We may not know what God is preparing us for, but we can trust the One who does.
And perhaps that is part of what faith really means: taking the next step even when we can’t see the whole path ahead.
Thank you for sharing this today, Cindy. A wonderful reminder that our lives are not random, and that God is still working even when we can’t see what He is doing. God bless you, my friend. 🙏

Steve, Thank you for your encouraging words. Reading “The Hiding Place” had a tremendous effect on me decades ago, and Corrie still inspires me today. It inspires me to know that other believers have endured more than me and yet remained faithful and served Him with their whole heart. Pray for me and I will pray for you. Pray that I will write what God wants me to write. He has promised to lead us.
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.” Psalm 32:8
God bless you and Sarah as you serve our Savior! 🙏
