How Can I Hear God Speak to Me?

Quote of the Week for 7/8/26

“When I pray, I talk to God, but when I read the Bible, God is talking to me; and it is really more important that God should speak to me than that I should speak to Him. I believe we should know better how to pray if we knew our Bibles better. What is an army good for if they don’t know how to use their weapons?”
― D.L. Moody

If you want to hear God speak to you, open your Bible. God has a lot to say!

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17 NIV (emphasis mine)

    1. The best and safest way to hear God is the Bible. There are many false teachings on “the still small voice”. Some describe “the still small voice” as listening prayer or contemplative prayer which it is not. One will not find anywhere in the Bible that we should pray by quieting the mind, retreating from distractions, and creating space to listen to inner promptings and the quiet communication of the Holy Spirit.
God bless you as you seek Him! ✝️

      1. I don’t listen to any online preaching. I am speaking from what happened to me personally. We are not to put God in a box. He has spoken to me in the ways I mentioned.

  1. Good quote Cindy 👍
You remind me of how often I tell folk at church that God’s Word is our Guidebook; without it we will become lost. God bless you today my friend and sister 🙏
