Quote of the Week for Wednesday, 7/1/26
“So skilled is error at imitating truth that the two are constantly being mistaken for each other. It takes a sharp eye these days to know which brother is Cain and which Abel. We must never take for granted anything that touches our soul’s welfare.” A.W. Tozer
Many, if not most, Christians study books by well-known “Christian authors” and call it a Bible Study. I beg to differ. That would be a book study. Some of the most popular “Christian” books are filled with errors. A Bible Study group studies the Bible, not books about the Bible.
“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15 NIV

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May they prosper who love you.”

The Tozer quote sounds like the ongoing errors caused by dependence on artificial intelligence. Excellent points, Cindy, and thanks for directing us back to the Bible—the ultimate source of truth and wisdom for life.

I certainly remember some folk being fanatical about certain authors and promoting them more than their latest Bible reading, if they read it all. Indeed I remember certain folk who were crazy for Joyce Meyer and Benny Hinn….very sad indeed. I am of the opinion if we must read books, let them be old classical commentaries read along with God’s Word or biographies of old saints. Having said that, my own commentary reading takes a back seat to The Word. God bless you richly today my friend and sister 🙏

I agree. I am very cautious about the books I read. I like David Jeremiah and Amir Tsarfati. That’s about it. Not saying there aren’t other good authors. I know there are, but I spend the majority of my time reading the Bible cover to cover. Thank you for your excellent comments. God bless you today, my friend and brother! 🙏

This is so good, ““Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15 NIV”
