The Promise of His Return

1-minute devotion for Tuesday, 9/16/25

Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.” …

“But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:3,4,8,9

“Thousands of years have passed since Jesus ascended into heaven, promising to return for His faithful ones (John 14:1–4Revelation 22:12). Scoffers point out the lapse of time and mock those who still wait and yearn for His appearing.” (Got Questions.org)

“There is God’s timetable and there is ours. From a human perspective, the word “near” passed its outer limits about 1,800 years ago. According to God’s calendar, it’s like we’re only a couple of days into the wait.” Amir Tsarfati, from his book Revealing Revelation

In His Love, Cindy

  1. Time is of the earth, there is no time in Heaven. I remember a pastor saying when the Bible says Jesus is coming soon it means suddenly. Have a blessed day.
