Disappointment is inevitable. But to become discouraged, there’s a choice I make. God would never discourage me. He would always point me to himself to trust him. Therefore, my discouragement is from Satan. As you go through the emotions that we have, hostility is not from God, bitterness, unforgiveness, all of these are attacks from Satan.” Charles Stanley

This is a very wise quote from Charles Stanley; I often stop to assess happenings to discern whether they fit with God’s holy character, and if they don’t…then I know that they are from the enemy. Thank you for sharing this reminder Cindy. God bless you richly today sister ๐

Sometimes, our hardest battle is with discouragement. Will I trust God, even with “this”? But I know that discouragement is not from the Lord, and I must determine not to give in to it. God is faithful! God bless you, today, Alan! ๐

Love this quote and to think about the distinction between feeling disappointed and getting to the point of discouragement and the source of it, and the choice we have. To pause, reflect on whether this aligns with Godโs character.
Thank you for sharing this Cindy.

I suspect that Dr. Stanley learned this truth as he served our Lord over many decades. God bless you, Manu, as you serve our Savior!

Cindy, I just typed a comment and donโt know what happened but lost it before I hit send.
Just wanted to say thank you for sharing this. Made me reflect on the difference between feeling disappointed and then about the choice we have to let that lead to discouragement.
