Sunday’s Memory Verse, 9/24/23

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds,  because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.  Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” James 1:2-4 NIV

In His Love, Cindy

  1. Cindy, this has been my verse twice this week. This is one in which I meditate on consistently. In my suffering, I’m so close to my Savior. Many blessings, Cindy. Carrying you in my heart and prayers~even if I don’t see you. 🙏🏻❤️

      1. Thank you, Cindy. That’s so sweet. I feel the hugs and prayers. I’ll be attending a few appts and then headed out, bubbles-wrapped by friends, to view God’s beauty before coming home and preparing for the life-altering surgery. If I don’t “see” you, know I remember you daily. I have another post to publish before I go MIA for a bit. God bless you!❤️💕🙏🏻

          1. I have a Telehealth with the nurse (I’ve met the surgeon already!) and travel coordinator tomorrow at 2 p.m. Originally the O.R. was “booked” for Oct. 31st and Nov. 1st. I’m not sure what the surgery is called, Cindy. He will remove my pancreatic tail, some of what is forming in the head and bile duct, my spleen, lymph nodes that have cancer, and the tumors on the liver. You’d find him impressive, no doubt! You can google him–Dr. Johnathan Hernandez (National Cancer Institute N.C.I. with the National Institute of Health–N.I.H.) Your prayers mean everything, Cindy!! I feel the hugs–thank you so much! 💕🤗🙏

            1. Karla, I googled him and you’re right. He’s very impressive! Looks like you’re in good hands! I am praying that everything will go perfectly and that you will have the peace that passes understanding. Hugs, my sweet friend!🤗

              1. Thank you, Cindy! I met two 41 yr olds who had surgery by him recently (one gal~a committed and passionate Christ follower from W VA) and they shared their stories and experiences. God is so good that I ended up on his desk! Many hugs and blessings. Your prayers are so appreciated. I’ll keep you updated once I return from my trip and know all the details (in case they change ). 💕🥰🙏🏻🤗

  2. Cindy, this passage was the focus the very first time I attended a Bible study (a bunch of girls in my college dorm) my freshman year! The thought that trials could actually be good things was a revelation to me. I was excited to study the Bible some more. I learned that even when something was unpleasant, I could CONSIDER it joy, because God was in control.
Now, over 50 years later, I still love that passage and try to “consider it all joy” even if I don’t FEEL joyful. 😉

    1. I like that! I can CONSIDER it all joy even if I don’t FEEL joyful. I’ll remember that! Thanks for that thought. We can read a verse a hundred times and still see something new! Hugs! Blessings, Annie!
