Verse for Meditation, 9/21/23

“Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.” 1 Corinthians 13:6 NIV Read full chapter

My Thoughts: To affirm transgenderism or homosexual behavior is not love. Sin brings pain and heartache. It always does. That’s why God warns us against it. Pastor David Jeremiah says, “This is the way sin works: it comes covered in an attractive veneer that hides its evil and hideous consequences.” (See Romans, Chapter 1.)

  1. I heard something interesting the other day. Did you know Eve was not named “Eve” until after the fall? I never noticed that. But this guy was suggesting that Satan began, way back then with Eve, attacking those who were unsure of their identity. They are easier to manipulate. Isn’t that interesting? We need to know who and whose we are. We need to be firm in the identity God gave us.

    1. I agree that we need to be firm in the identity God gave us. Honestly, I don’t see how transgenderism relates to Eve. However, Eve believed the lie of the devil. And that’s what trans ideology is: the lie of the devil. It is evil. Thanks for commenting on this. Blessings, ML!

      1. Isn’t transgenderism a confusion of God-given identity? Not only transgenderism, but the whole pronoun debate and all the ways people “identify” as other than they were created to be. I don’t think transgenderism was a thing with Eve – I just thought it was interesting that she wasn’t given her name yet. Adam had one, the animals all had theirs. Satan targeted her. I just thought it was an interesting thing to note. I had never noticed that she didn’t receive her name until after all that. And agree – all sin stems from one of Satan’s lies or another.

  2. We aren’t showing love if we support lying to people about their identity. It’s actually unloving and uncaring to confuse people. In fact, people misuse and misunderstand the Lord’s teaching about Love. And sadly, many of our Christian brethren and saints are becoming antagonists against Christ. They are falling away and are captivated by the world’s ideology.
