Understanding the Depth of Christ’s Love

1-minute read Monday’s Verse, 3/31/25

“And I pray that you, being rootedΒ and established in love,Β Β may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people,Β to grasp how wide and long and high and deepΒ is the love of Christ,Β Β and to know this love that surpasses knowledgeβ€”that you may be filledΒ to the measure of all the fullness of God.” Ephesians 3:17-19 NIV Read full chapter

Comments: His love is deep, reminding us that His love addresses the deepest needs of the human heart. God loves sinners no matter who they are, what they have done, or where they have been. (Jeremiah Study Bible Notes)

Trust in God for Perfect Peace

1-minute read Sunday’s Memory Verse, 3/30/25

“You will keep in perfect peace
Β Β Β Β those whose minds are steadfast,
Β Β Β Β because they trustΒ in you.” Isaiah 26:3 NIV

The context of this promise of perfect peace is what makes it so inviting. Israel was anticipating the Day of the Lord when God would rain down judgement upon her enemies. (Jeremiah Study Bible Notes)

Unbreakable Love: Romans 8:38-39 Explained

1-minute read Friday’s Verse, 3/28/25 NIV

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,Β neither the present nor the future,Β nor any powers,Β Β neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of GodΒ that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39 NIV Read full chapter

The apostle Paul articulates one of the most profoundly comforting reassurances in Scripture. He knows this is true, but he is also convinced of it!

Trials Strengthen Our Character

1-minute read Verses for Meditation, 3/27/25

“We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance.Β And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.Β Β And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.” Romans 5:3-5 NLT

Endurance: stamina, staying power, fortitude, perseverance, persistence, tenacity, tirelessness, determination (Thesaurus)

Trust in the Lord: Renew Your Strength

1-minute read Monday’s Verse, 3/24/25

“TheΒ LordΒ is the everlasting God,
Β Β Β Β the Creator of all the earth.
He never grows weak or weary.
Β Β Β Β No one can measure the depths of his understanding.
He gives power to the weak
Β Β Β Β and strength to the powerless.
Even youths will become weak and tired,
Β Β Β Β and young men will fall in exhaustion.
But those who trust in theΒ LordΒ will find new strength.
Β Β Β Β They will soar high on wings like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary.
Β Β Β Β They will walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:28-31 NLT

Quote of the Week, 3/19/25

1-minute read

Disappointment is inevitable. But to become discouraged, there’s a choice I make. God would never discourage me. He would always point me to himself to trust him. Therefore, my discouragement is from Satan. As you go through the emotions that we have, hostility is not from God, bitterness, unforgiveness, all of these are attacks from Satan.” Charles Stanley

Overcoming Worry

1-minute read Sunday’s Memory Verse, 3/16/25

“Do not be anxious about anything,Β but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.Β And the peace of God,Β which transcends all understanding,Β will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7 NIV

The opposite of peace is worry. The Greek word for anxious means to have “a mind divided” between legitimate thoughts and destructive thoughts. Destructive thoughts will choke out the Word of God and cause believers to abandon trust. (Jeremiah Study Bible Notes)

Seeking the Lord with All Your Heart

1-minute read Friday’s Verse, 3/14/25

“You will seekΒ me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13 NIV

Comment: May we seek the Lord, not casually, but with our whole heart. When we do that, we will find Him and know Him.

Quote of the Week, 3/12/25

β€œWhen we long for life without difficulties, remind us that oaks grow strong in contrary winds and diamonds are made under pressure.”

Peter Marshall

A Little About Peter Marshall

Peter Marshall was born in Coatbridge, Scotland, a poverty-stricken coal-mining community, where he was reared by his mother and stepfather. From an early age, he decided he would be a missionary to China. To meet the educational requirements, he enrolled in evening classes while working in the mines by day, but his progress was slow. In 1927, a cousin offered to pay Peter’s way to the U.S., where he could receive proper ministerial training. He graduated from Columbia Theological Seminary in 1931. He went on to become pastor of the New York Avenue Presbyterian Church in Washington, DC, and was appointed as Chaplain of the United States Senate in 1946.

Catherine Marshall wrote a biography of her husband, A Man Called Peter (1951), which was a popular success. It was adapted as a movie and released in 1955 and was nominated for an Oscar. You can watch the movie here.
