Rise! By Craig Sabin

Are you in a spiritual battle? I pray that the following verses by Craig Sabin will encourage you to keep fighting, as much as they did me!

O, weak and broken soldier, rise!
Get on your feet and fix your eyes
Upon your Captain, King and Lord,
Who bids you wield His living sword!
So what, your strength has slipped away,
You're weary from the race you've run,
So what, your body, broken lay,
You're not discharged! Your work's not done!
The weaker vessels show His pow'r;
The broken show it ev'ry hour.
So rise, and for His glory, strive!
By faith, from brokenness revive!
A soldier suffers hardship oft!
No featherbed of ease for him,
'Twould make him slow and weak and soft,
Instead of fell and fighting trim, so Rise!
Recall your purpose, high and grand,
A battle rages through the land,
The enemy has evil planned,
Against him you are called to stand so Rise!
Get up and stand against the flood!
And fear not death nor darkest grave,
But wrestle not with flesh and blood,
For they're the ones we fight to save.
Let love and light shine like a star,
And let the truth consume the lies,
Remember who and whose you are,
And when you fall don't fail to RISE!
Endure until the bitter end,
And ev'ry ounce of effort spend!
It matters not you're weak and small,
Your Captain is the Lord of All so RISE!
And put His mighty armor on!
And hold the line as soldiers must!
The dark will flee before the dawn;
It's His to win and ours to trust!
And Rise!

He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” The 2nd Letter to the Corinthians, Chapter 12, verse 9

“Suffer hardship with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.” The 2nd Letter to Timothy, Chapter 2, verse 3

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.” The Letter to the Ephesians, Chapter 6, verses 12-13

“Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted.” The Letter to the Hebrews, Chapter 12, verse 3

Postscript – Every child of God through faith in Jesus Christ is born into warfare, but the weapons of our warfare are not physical, and no son of Adam is our true enemy. Even so, the battle is real and many suffer real and lasting harm, so this war is more than mere metaphor.

It’s a pitfall of our nature (and one with which I am well acquainted) that we tend to be soft on ourselves and when we suffer hardship or injury, especially if it is particularly grievous, we at once turn all of our focus upon ourselves and in our self-pity think that we have somehow been excused from the conflict when, in fact, this is when and where the battle is thickest and the danger the greatest.

This collection of verses is written to my own soul, as it were, and is meant to somewhat mercilessly dispatch the several lies and excuses that have rallied against me and sought my destruction in the midst of my trials. Furthermore, it is meant as a strong exhortation to the endurance and faith without which, scripture is clear, we cannot hope to inherit the kingdom of heaven.

Verses for Meditation, 10/31/24

Jesus said to His disciples, “Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave—  just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:26-28 NIV Read full chapter

My thoughts: Do we want to be honored and praised for our ministry or do we seek to serve? To seek exaltation is a snare.

“Do you not know?
    Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.” Isaiah 40:28-29 NIV

Abortion’s Hidden Trauma: Women’s Stories

Many, if not most women are traumatized after having an abortion. But you will never hear about that because Pro-Abortion proponents don’t want you to know the heart-breaking, hidden side of abortion.

The following quotes are just a few testimonies from real women who had abortions and what they want other women to know.

It’s been 50 years, but I am still grieved. Only through the forgiveness of Jesus have I been able to live with what I did.

Nobody will ever understand what you will go through after it’s all done. Abortion doesn’t make a baby go away, it just makes a dead baby.”

I pray God forgives me and that someday I’ll see my baby in heaven. It’s been 26 years and I will never forget.”

I’m 51 and had my abortion when I was 18. I think about my baby every day.”

I am 70 years old; I had an abortion 30 years ago. I still regret my abortion every day of my life. I think about the baby that I aborted.…

I killed my baby, it has been 33 years, please don’t kill your baby it will change your life forever…”

I made the biggest mistake of my life and didn’t see it, until it was too late. I regret going through with the abortion. I’m lost, hurt, and the guilt is eating me alive.

We are told as women we have a choice but no one explains what we are choosing. I doubt many would choose to feel the way I have for 10 years so that is why I am SILENT NO MORE.

There is no safety net at Planned Parenthood to protect women who may be at risk for traumatization. They don’t care.

A textbook of the National Abortion Federation has identified many “negative reactions” (p.28-29) that some women have after abortion; some are trauma symptoms: nightmares about babies, insomnia, negative emotions of
guilt, anger, worthlessness, and shame, “blocking out the experience,” avoiding things that trigger memories about the abortion, “engaging in self-punishing behaviors such as substance abuse . . . and relationships with abusive partners,” suicidal thoughts, “relentless thoughts of
being a bad person,” and various self-destructive behaviors (Baker, Beresford, Halvorson-Boyd, & Garrity, 1999 pp.28-29).

Current Data on Side Effects of Abortion

In Rue et al. (2004), 30% of the American women reported nightmares associated with their abortion.

Intrusion symptoms reported after abortion include nightmares, flashbacks, and memories that “seemed to intrude despite trying to forget” (Dykes, Slade, & Haywood, 2010).

In a study comparing 331 Russian and 217 American women, 48% of the Russians and 65% of the Americans reported one or more intrusion symptoms
specifically related to a past abortion (Rue, Coleman, Rue, & Reardon, 2004).

There is a lot more data. You can read the article by Martha Shuping, M.D., M.A. at Counterpoint: Long-Lasting Distress after Abortion to access more studies.

Did You Know?

“Abortion is known as a main cause of maternal mortality, life-threatening complications such as hemorrhage, fever, and infection on the one hand, and psychological disorders such as regret, guilt, smoking, alcoholism, self-destructive behaviors, and even suicide on the other.” NIH (National Institutes of Health)

You probably haven’t heard about these studies and for obvious reasons. The abortion industry doesn’t want you to know! They want women to believe that pro-life groups want to take away their right to health care. They want women to believe that their pregnancy isn’t a baby. It’s a clump of cells. This is all propaganda. If they really sought the welfare of the woman as they purport to do, they would show her an ultrasound and make sure she had all the facts. But, well, they would lose a lot of money if they did that!

“Woe to those who call evil good
    and good evil,
who put darkness for light
    and light for darkness,
who put bitter for sweet
and sweet for bitter.” Isaiah 5:20

“The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness,” Romans 1:18 NIV Read full chapter

“The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron.” 1 Timothy 4:1-2

Friday’s Verses, 10/25/24

“I know how to get along and live humbly [in difficult times], and I also know how to enjoy abundance and live in prosperity. In any and every circumstance I have learned the secret [of facing life], whether well-fed or going hungry, whether having an abundance or being in need. I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose—I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.]” From the Apostle Paul in Philippians 4:12-13 AMP
