Corrie ten Boom: The Most Amazing Thing She Did

By Amir Tsarfati on Telegram

Many Christians love to use Corrie ten Boom as the ultimate example of forgiving the enemy. And yes – her forgiveness was powerful.

But let me remind you of something.

The most Christian thing Corrie did was not forgiving a Nazi guard after the war – the most Christian thing she did was refusing to stay silent while Jews were being hunted. She hid them. She protected them. She risked everything.

She did not sit on the sidelines – she acted.

She was a Ruth – “Your people shall be my people.” She attached herself to the Jewish people in their darkest hour – not when it was convenient.

Today, we are witnessing an unprecedented wave of antisemitism. Loud hatred. Polished hatred. Academic hatred. Even some self-proclaimed conservative influencers are fanning the flames.

Let me be very clear –

You will never provoke Israel to jealousy through hatred.

You will never draw Jewish hearts toward the Messiah through violence.

You will never reflect Jesus by attacking His own people.

The apostle Paul spoke about provoking Israel to jealousy – but jealousy comes from love, from holiness, from walking in truth – not from slander and conspiracy theories.

Silence in a time like this is not wisdom – it is surrender.

If we claim to follow the Jewish Messiah – then we must not be ashamed of the Jewish people.

This is not the hour to retreat – it is the hour to stand.

Jesus said, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:30-31 NIV

Diminishing the Authority of Scripture

1-minute Devotion for Thursday, 3/5/26

As 1 Timothy 4:1 says, “Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons.”

“This is the end result of diminishing the authority of Scripture and inserting human opinion or cultural sensitivities in its place. When we fail to stress the importance of the apostles’ doctrines as we fellowship, break bread, and pray together with new disciples, we will leave people vulnerable to the enemy’s efforts to insert his doctrines into their thinking.”

Ezekiel’s Vision: A Quick Guide to Understanding Measurements

1-minute devotion for Thursday, 1/1/26

Have you ever been reading a long Bible passage and gone into a brain fog? This happened to me recently while studying Ezekiel, chapters 40 – 43. It describes Ezekiel’s vision of the new temple and includes numerous measurements given in cubits.

While exact counts vary slightly by translation, the word “cubit” appears hundreds of times in the Bible. So, here’s my tip: Go to BibleGateway.com. On the version menu, select New Living Translation (NLT). Type in a search for the passage you want. Suddenly, the math is done for you!

For example:

“Then the man measured across the Temple’s outer courtyard between the outer and inner gateways; the distance was 175 feet.” Ezekiel 40:19 NLT

“Then he measured the distance from the inside of the lower gateway to the outside of the inner court; it was a hundred cubits on the east side as well as on the north.” Ezekiel 40:19 NIV

I discovered this “hack” in Amir Tsarfati’s book, Exploring Ezekiel, which I highly recommend.

Amir adds, “If you aren’t a fan of biblical paraphrases, no problem! Just read from whatever version you normally use and keep the NLT open for reference.”

I hope you will find this useful as you study God’s Holy Word.

I only wish I had discovered this years ago!

Is The Bible Relevant in the 21st Century?

(Updated and revised)

I heard a pastor say something that sent shock waves through me. In an attempt to draw unchurched people to Christ, this popular pastor is teaching his flock that the Bible, especially the Old Testament, is not essential to following Jesus. (I find that really hard to accept since Jesus Himself taught from the Old Testament!)

Even more shocking is how easily people accept it! That’s why I feel compelled to write about it. The Old Testament is vitally important because everything in it points to Jesus. The more we study the whole Bible, the better we will know God.

“The Word of God is complete – both the Old and New Testaments flow together as one divine story of redemption. To disregard one and elevate the other is to dishonor the Author who gave us both – the same God who used the Old to confirm and fulfill the New.”

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness…”
2 Timothy 3:16 (emphasis mine)

Once the enemy convinces the church that we shouldn’t base our beliefs on the Bible, he can bring forth all kinds of deception and lies that will be gobbled up by itching ears. Without the Bible, the church is destined to embark on a path that gradually resembles the world more and resembles Christ less.

The importance of Bible reading can not be overemphasized. If we read more books about the Bible than the actual Bible, well, we are treading on dangerous ground. But isn’t that what people like to do? It’s the lazy way out. Don’t let someone tell you what the Bible says, unless you have read it for yourself first.

“For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.  They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.” 2 Timothy 4:3-4

“Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.” John 17:17

Yes, maybe our churches will grow bigger and faster if we present a message that mirrors a secular worldview, but is that really a good idea?

Jesus said,

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.  But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” Matthew 7:13

My purpose in writing this post is not to criticize, but to highlight the vital importance of reading, studying, and knowing God’s Word for yourself, and to warn against any teaching that does not honor God’s Holy Word. A cursory knowledge of the Bible is not good enough. For the Bible is the only criterion with which we can discern truth from error.

I challenge you to read the entire Bible within one year. It’s easier than you think! I have done it for the last seven years. In fact, I plan on doing it every year from now on. Why? It’s both beneficial and easy to do! Once you do it, you’ll want to do it again. I promise!

I’ve been using a chronological Bible reading plan where you study the Bible in the order in which events happened. I found it very helpful in gaining a better understanding of the Biblical timeline. And it requires only a few minutes each day.

Here are three plans you can print.

Or, you can use a digital plan like this.

“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” Psalm 119:105

The Bible guides us through life and teaches us what is true. It is indispensable!

As always, comments are welcome and appreciated.

God’s Irrevocable Covenant with Israel

1-minute devotion for Thursday, 12/4/25

“I  ask then: Did God reject his people? By no means! I am an Israelite myself, a descendant of Abraham, from the tribe of Benjamin. God did not reject his people, whom he foreknew.” Romans 11:1-2

“God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable.” Romans 11:29

“And when it comes to Israel, this has never been – and will never be – a political topic. It is a divine covenant. No matter which government leads this small nation – liberal, conservative, or in between – God continues to preserve, protect, and fight for His people, even while they remain in unbelief. To those who claim that Israel has somehow fallen from grace, I can only say: God’s promises are not dependent on human faithfulness but on His unchanging nature.”

Trusting God When Times Are Tough

1 minute read

Quote of the Week, 1/22/25

It is in dark times that faith often becomes stronger. Just ask Elijah when he fled from Jezebel or Paul when he was locked in a Roman prison. If there is nothing left but to trust God, then there is nothing you can do except – you guessed it – to trust God. When you do, it is one hundred percent guaranteed that He will show Himself faithful and your dependence on Him will grow.

Amir Tsarfati, Behold Israel

“When I am afraid, I will trust in You.” Psalm 56:3 NLT

NEWS FLASH: Miracles in Israel Last Night!

“Behold, He that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.” Psalm 121:4

You can stay updated on what is happening in Israel best by following Amir Tsarfati on his Telegram channel. Here is a snapshot from one of today’s posts:

“I really don’t think you understand the absolute miracles that we witnessed last night here in Israel. In fact, I am sure you don’t.

Last night, as Iran rained down ballistic missiles on Israel, all three defense systems were activated and implemented to perfection. The chances of all of these incredibly complex systems working in unison as flawlessly as they did last night, are basically non existent.

If one thing went wrong, if one of those ballistic missiles hit an apartment building, a shopping center, or an army base, we would now be burying hundreds of Israelis. And all of that is not even the biggest miracle.

A few hours ago, I got a WhatsApp message from a good friend who is a senior executive at Microsoft and who wasn’t exactly a God fearing Jew. Until yesterday. Here is what he wrote me.

“If you’re looking for miracles man – last night I started believing. Missiles hit all around me but none of them hit my house or any house, for that matter.”

He elaborated some more and shared info about the missiles that he watched land just meters away from very strategic places in Israel, to say the least.

Each one of those defense systems is, in and of itself, pretty miraculous, but what is even more insane is the low casualty numbers from the rockets and missiles that we’re NOT intercepted.

Where did those missiles go? I’ll tell you where. They landed in sand, in water, and in “Empty spaces”.

Have you been to Israel? It’s a microscopic country. What empty spaces? Where are these empty spaces? 🤷‍♂️

How have hundreds of Iranian ballistic missiles all either get detonated by miraculous systems or totally miss their mark and land in empty spaces causing zero casualties and minimal damage?!

How??

But if you know anything about what had to happen last night and throughout this war in general, for such a low number of casualties, you’ll know that what we witnessed last night was the equivalent of God splitting the sea right before our eyes.

Guess what. When God split the sea, there were those who didn’t believe it was a miracle and didn’t jump in. And there are also those who feel the need to explain it naturally. Ok, that’s fine.

You don’t want to call yesterday an act of God? That’s your choice, but like my Microsoft friend, if you look at these events objectively, you’d have a really hard time seeing those hundreds of deadly missiles land in empty spaces and not see the hand of God.

Last night will go down in history right alongside many of Israel’s accomplishments in this war including the beepers and the unprecedented low ratio between combatant and civilian, as a military operation the likes of which the world has never seen. Ever!

Last night will be analyzed by military strategists and experts for generations. Last night, we witnessed history. Last night we witnessed open miracles.

Last night, we witnessed God in all His glory watching over His children.

Quote of the Week, 7/10/24

Like Daniel, we are here to love and show the truth of God’s salvation to all sinners, great and small. This includes those who vote differently, who are hostile to the church, who self-identify in ways that don’t mesh with Scripture, and who live only for themselves. I’m not saying we agree with their views or accept their sin. I’m saying that we love them with everything we have, because that’s how God loved us when we were lost in our own sins.” Amir Tsarfati, Discovering Daniel
