Quote of the Week, 4/17/24

β€œForgiveness is an act of the will, and the will can function regardless of the temperature of the heart.”

Corrie Ten Boom

NOTE: Corrie ten Boom and her family helped Jews escape the Nazi Holocaust during World War II and, by all accounts, saved nearly 800 lives. Corrie was caught and remanded to the notorious RavensbrΓΌck concentration camp, near Berlin. On December 16, 1944, Corrie was released for reasons unknown. She began a worldwide ministry that took her to more than 60 countries where she preached forgiveness and God’s love.

Tuesday’s Verse, 4/16/24

“Wait for the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the Lord.” Psalm 27:14 NASB

Think About This: “It is in the waiting that we see our need for God. It is in the waiting that we learn a deeper trust. It is in the waiting that we learn to praise God despite our suffering. And it is in the waiting that we learn where to place our hope.” Patty, Waiting Slow, From her excellent blog, He Said What?

Monday’s Verse, 4/15/24

“But a natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.” 1 Corinthians 2:14 NASB Read full chapter

Sometimes people are just blind to the Truth. But the Holy Spirit can open blind eyes. Pray that God will open the eyes of unbelievers and those who follow false religions.

Have You Heard of “One Million Esthers for America”?

Self-proclaimed NAR “prophet” Lou Engle has called women of America to pray for our country in Washington, DC in October 2024.

That may sound like a good thing, but before you sign up, I urge you to learn more about Lou Engle and this movement. Why?

It is dangerous to have zeal without knowledge, and the one who acts hastily makes poor choices.” Proverbs 19:2 NET

This verse reminds us that we must not jump on the bandwagon of anything and everything that claims to be Christian. Make sure you know what it’s about and who is promoting it.

This event is sponsored by the New Apostolic Reformation, an unbiblical movement within evangelical Christianity. If you don’t know what the New Apostolic Reformation is, please learn.

“The New Apostolic Reformation, or NAR, is an unbiblical religious movement that emphasizes experience over Scripture, mysticism over doctrine, and modern-day β€œapostles” over the plain text of the Bible. Of particular distinction in the New Apostolic Reformation are the role and power of spiritual leaders and miracle-workers, the reception of β€œnew” revelations from God, an over-emphasis on spiritual warfare, and a pursuit of cultural and political control in society. The seeking of signs and wonders in the NAR is always accompanied by blatantly false doctrine.” (GotQuestions.org) Read the full article “What Is the New Apostolic Reformation here.

One of my favorite blogs, Reasoned Cases for Christ by Bruce Cooper, has a dedicated website page that offers an in-depth study of the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) movement within Christianity. It provides historical, doctrinal, and organizational insights into the NAR, emphasizing the importance of understanding its beliefs and practices in light of biblical truth. You can access that page here.

I fear many innocent, but zealous, Christian women will be drawn into this “One Million Esthers” movement. I urge you to heed the warnings in God’s Word.

“I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him. But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the Spirit you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough ... For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.  It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve. ” 2 Corinthians 11:2-4, and 13-15 NIV (emphasis mine)

Dawn Hill has written an excellent article concerning “THE RISE OF ONE MILLION ESTHERS FOR AMERICA”. Read it at the Lovesick Scribe here.

Jesus warned, “At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. ” Matthew 24:10-11 NIV

I know that many good Christian women have never even heard of the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR). That is why I am posting this warning. Please do not be uninformed.

Friday’s Verse, 4/12/24

To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said,Β β€œIf you hold to my teaching,Β you are really my disciples.Β Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31-32 NIV

My thoughts: In a day of great deception, there is one sure way to know what is right and what is wrong, what is false and what is true.

Quote of the Week, 4/10/24

Β The Bible teaches that God’s Word is the ultimate source of objective truth, providing a solid foundation for understanding God and the world … it is essential for believers to rely on God’s objective truths as the ultimate source of guidance and wisdom in navigating life.”
