βI have concluded based on my years of experience that sheep are stupid. Not just stupid but mind-numbingly stupidβ sometimes I wonder how they manage to breathe and eat.β Glenn Brunkow, Rancher
And this is the animal God chose to represent humans?! But when you examine their relationship with the Shepherd, you will understand why.
Our brother in Christ, Alan Kearns, posted the movie below on his excellent blog, Devotional Treasure. For those of you who have not seen it, you are in for a real treat!
This amazing movie will give you a deeper understanding of the Great Shepherd, and it will touch your heart. You will be glad you took the time to watch it. I promise!

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May they prosper who love you.” Psalm 122:6NASB
Yes! The vast majority of historians and biblical scholars, both religious and secular, agree that Jesus of Nazareth was a real historical person. His physical existence in first-century Palestine is considered a well-established historical fact.
Did He claim to be the only way to God?
Yes! Jesus said,
βI am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6 NIV
Is the New Testament Historically Reliable Literature?
Yes! The authenticity of the New Testament is overwhelming: there are about 25,000 early manuscripts. In comparison, the Gallic Wars written by Caesar in the first century BC has only 10 early manuscripts.
What will you do?
Still unsure? Please watch the video below before you decide. (Under 5 minutes)
If you have never put your faith and trust in Jesus, you can do it now. He loves you more than you can comprehend, and it will change your life forever. Pray now:
Lord Jesus, I come before you and confess that I am a sinner. Jesus, I believe that you died on the cross and that Almighty God raised you from the dead. I pray that you will forgive me of all my sins. I choose today to trust and follow you with my whole heart. Amen.
βIF YOU CONFESS WITH YOUR MOUTH, βJESUS IS LORD,β AND BELIEVE IN YOUR HEART THAT GOD RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD, YOU WILL BE SAVED. FOR IT IS WITH YOUR HEART THAT YOU BELIEVE AND ARE JUSTIFIED, AND IT IS WITH YOUR MOUTH THAT YOU CONFESS AND ARE SAVED. AS THE SCRIPTURE SAYS, ANYONE WHO TRUSTS IN HIM WILL NEVER BE PUT TO SHAME.β ROMANS 10:9-11
If you prayed that prayer, please message me in the comments section with any questions you may have. I would love to hear from you!
Read the Bible every day so that you can learn how to follow Jesus. The Gospel of John is a good place to start.
God reveals His greatness, power, omnipotence, and omnipresence.
In chapters 38 through 41, God speaks to Job, asking questions Job can’t answer.
“The Lord spoke to Job out of the storm. He said … where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation?” Job 38:1, 4
βCan you raise your voice to the clouds and cover yourself with a flood of water? Do you send the lightning bolts on their way? Do they report to you, βHere we areβ?” v.34-35
My thoughts: The description of God in these four chapters can be difficult for some to accept. It’s easier for people (if they even believe in God at all) to think of Him as a fatherly figure who will listen to their prayers, someone to go to when they are desperate. They put God in a box to be opened only on Sundays (or when needed). The rest of the week, they go on their merry way, enjoying the things of the world. It makes them uncomfortable to make God more important than that. It makes them uncomfortable to contemplate God’s sovereignty or His hand in current events.
Others see Him as a genie in the sky who gives them the power to speak what they want into existence. Their faith becomes a tool to obtain their earthly desires. This is New Age thought and totally unbiblical. Almighty God is not at the beck and call of His creatures. The book of Job is a refutation of the new age teaching from WOF and NAR.
We learn to know God through His Word.

“Believers talk about trusting the Lord with their whole heart and refusing to lean on their own understanding (Proverbs 3:5), but no one really knows what that means until circumstances cast them headfirst into a dark and painful place. If we give ourselves fully to God in those moments, we will obtain keepsakes of Him to treasure now and forever.” Pastor David Jeremiah
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6

A day is coming when God Himself will redeem (vindicate) all of our suffering.
“I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand on the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God; I myself will see him with my own eyesβI, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!” Job 19:25-27

Job’s story is relatable to other believers who have suffered for reasons unknown to them.
Corrie ten Boom is one example. She hid Jews during the Holocaust and saved an estimated 800 people’s lives! The Nazis caught her and imprisoned her (along with her father and sister) in RavensbrΓΌck Concentration Camp.
Corrie ten Boom is known for using the following verse to describe her feelings after she and her family were arrested by the Nazis.
βHow I long for the months gone by, for the days when God watched over me…” Job 29:2
Did you know that although it is famous in world literature, Job is one of the least-read books of the Bible? To me, studying the book of Job is analogous to climbing Mt. Everest. And writing about it has been just as challenging. However, I have learned a lot while reading and studying Job, and over the next few days I want to share a few of the insights that seemed especially important to me.
The value of God’s wisdom is beyond our ability to comprehend.
“But where can wisdom be found? Where does understanding dwell? No mortal comprehends its worth …
It cannot be bought with the finest gold, nor can its price be weighed out in silver. It cannot be bought with the gold of Ophir, with precious onyx or lapis lazuli. Neither gold nor crystal can compare with it, nor can it be had for jewels of gold… it cannot be bought with pure gold.
Where then does wisdom come from? Where does understanding dwell? … God understands the way to it and he alone knows where it dwells, for he views the ends of the earth and sees everything under the heavens. … he looked at wisdom and appraised it; he confirmed it and tested it. And he said to the human race, βThe fear of the Lordβthat is wisdom, and to shun evil is understanding.β Job 28:12-13, 15-17, 20, 24, and 28 (emphasis mine) Read full chapter

Jesus said, “Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.” Matthew 5:5
The Greek word for meek is praus. It means: gentle, meek, the positive moral quality of dealing with people kindly, with humility and consideration
Meekness … implies a humble acceptance of one’s lowly position before God. One day they will inherit the earth as they reign with Christ.” ( Jeremiah Study Bible Notes)
