What’s in an Eagle’s Egg?

Quote of the Week for Friday, 9/25/26

“I would like to introduce the eagle’s egg. Is whatever that is inside that egg a clump of cells? It can’t be an eagle can it? You may know that destroying an eagle’s egg is against the law in the U.S. Why is that? As it turns out, eagles are an endangered species. So, as unbelievable as it seems, if one were to destroy an eagle’s egg, he would be destroying an eagle. Stunning reality, isn’t it? Why can’t people understand that “clump of cells” in a woman’s womb is a baby? It is astounding that people use that as a reason to kill innocent children. Dark times.”

You can read Jim Thomson’s excellent article here: Killing Babies, Sexual Identity, And The Truth by Jim Thomson

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
    before you were born I set you apart;
    I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5 NIV

FACT: An estimated 1,126,000 babies were murdered by US clinicians in 2025.

What can we do? I support Pregnancy Help Centers, such as Preborn!, that show expectant mothers an ultrasound of their baby. PreBorn! exists to meet abortion-vulnerable women before it’s too late with life-saving ultrasounds, compassionate care, practical support, and the hope of the gospel.

  1. The Divine mystery of birth and cell creation is far beyond the understanding of any man, including Charles Darwin. Divine Creation of the individual begins at conception, thus abortion at any stage is murder.
    God bless you today sister 🙏

  2. Cindy, this is a powerful and necessary reminder. It’s striking how our culture instinctively understands that an eagle’s egg contains an eagle — not a “potential” eagle, not a symbolic eagle, but the real thing. Yet when it comes to human life, the same clarity evaporates. Your contrast exposes the deep moral confusion of our moment.

    Jeremiah 1:5 lands with fresh weight here. God doesn’t wait for viability, visibility, or social approval to confer value. He speaks identity, purpose, and personhood before anyone else can see it. That truth dismantles every attempt to reduce a child to a category, a choice, or a clump of cells.

    Thank you for pairing conviction with compassion — pointing us toward ministries that meet women with hope, truth, and tangible support. In a dark time, this kind of light matters. Keep sounding the call.

    1. Michael, Thank you for your encouraging words. People sometimes believe what they want to believe. This is nowhere more true than when a woman is pregnant and doesn’t want to be. If only she understood the blessing she is destroying if she chooses abortion. God bless you today, as you serve our Lord and Savior!

    1. Yes, Jim makes a great point about the eagle, one I won’t forget! The same people who cry out on behalf of the eagle are the same ones who cry out on behalf of the right to have an abortion! Really?!
      God bless you, Grant!
