1-Minute Devotion for Thursday, 9/3/26

Even if you’ve seen this video before, I urge you to watch it again. In America (and other free countries), we are blessed to have as many Bibles as we want. But many Christians around the world do not have this privilege because they aren’t free.

Do you know how fortunate you are? Do you treasure God’s Word like these Chinese Christians do? Do you study it every day?

“You are my refuge and my shield;
    I have put my hope in your word.” Psalm 119:114 NIV

  1. That video touches my heart deeply every time I watch it Cindy. It also reminds me of the story of Mary Jones, who was 15 years old in 1800. She lived in the countryside of Wales and yearned for a Welsh Bible, such that she saved every penny for a year and then walked 26 miles to buy her Bible. It is a remarkable story of love for God and His Word. If only more people loved their Bibles with such fervour. God bless you today my friend and sister in Christ 🙏

    1. Alan, The video makes me cry. I think I discovered it on one of your posts! People need to be reminded! Some people have to lose something (no matter how valuable it is) before they realize how much they took it for granted. God bless you today, my friend and brother! 🙏

  2. Cindy, this really made me stop and think. We can so easily take having a Bible whenever we want for granted, while there are Christians who treasure God’s Word because getting hold of one can be such a precious gift. A powerful reminder to never lose sight of just how blessed we are to have such free access to Scripture. Thank you for sharing this. 😀
