1-Minute Devotion for Tuesday, 8/18/26
Many believers struggle with feelings of inadequacy, but that’s okay because our competence comes from God. Yes, we must study to show ourselves approved, but it is God who gives us the ability to do what He has called us to do and guides our path. So don’t look within; look up, to the One who called you. He is our strength!
“Not that we are adequate in ourselves so as to consider anything as having come from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God, who also made us adequate as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.” 2 Corinthians 3:5-6 NASB

Thank you so much for sharing this pertinent and super encouraging message today Cindy. It is pertinent with regards to a conversation I had recently about my brain injury and how it limits me, but I was able to point to our pulpit and say that “I can’t do what I do up there but by God’s miraculous provision!” With a brain that has only 15% processing power that is the only explanation of how I can serve Him as I do – and it is not bragging, but giving all the glory to Almighty God 🙌

Alan, I am reminded of the Scripture that says, “God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” James 4:6
