Quote of the Week for Wednesday, 5/27
“Because we too often walk by sight and not by faith — thinking we can live our Christian lives by some sort of spiritual inertia — we fall into Satan’s trap of thinking he’s not really there, or at least as if he’s not very active. It does seem, after all, to be a much more pleasant thought to believe that he’s not around or, at least, that we’re really not a significant enough target for him to spend his time on.”
Burk Parsons, Pastor, Sanford, Florida
“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” 1 Peter 5:8 NIV

Excellent quote, Cindy. Too many discount the need to put on the whole armor of God, and they suffer defeat.

It is good for us to review what those pieces of armor

Adding to our daily prayer what each piece of God’s armor does for us can make all the difference in the way we approach both defense and offense.

Let’s try that again! It is good for us to review what those pieces of armor represent! And our weapon, which is the Word of God! Blessings, Grant!

What a great Word, dear friend. One of my friends and I were just having this conversation two days ago, Cindy. I’ve been in “silent” mode on making sure that I’m savoring my time with our Savior. I so wish we lived closer. From the Word to many other books of faithful pilgrims, I’m leaning on Christ to continue to lead me. That means being alert and sober at all times. It’s not easy. Particularly when I don’t feel well. The enemy is lurking and ready to pounce. I love the power that we have, just as at Pentecost, in which we can trample him like a pest! May we all stay alert and strong in Christ–and share that light and truth with others just like you.
I’m so grateful for you. Finley and I send our love to you and Henry! I pray you are doing the best possible. Prayers and blessings, sweet friend. 🙏🏻❣️🐾

Karla, “Savoring time with the Savior” -nothing could be better than that! The enemy may be lurking, but he won’t get near YOU because you are covered in prayer by all of us who love you! Even the Holy Spirit is praying for you!
“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.” Romans 8:26-27
May God bless you richly today my dear friend and sister in Christ!
Sending our love and prayers to you and Finn,
Cindy and Henry 🙏💕🐾

Dear Cindy, my apologies for such a late reply sweet friend.
I love that verse from Romans! I wish we could sit together with tea or coffee and share how Christ is working in our lives. And how the enemy might TRY and will always fail! It doesn’t mean it’s easy. But I’d rather go through storms with Jesus than walk alone in sunshine (I believe there’s a song that states that!).
God bless you and Henry. Finley and I love you both dearly. Praying for you now! 🩷🙏🏻🐾❣️

Yes, we need to beware that the Devil is prowling around looking for victims…he is being specific in whomever he selects. If we were game prey, he would seek those lagging behind the flock, maybe with a limp or some weakness. May we be clad in the Word of God and able to withstand his wiles. God bless you today sister 🙏

Many assume that Satan does not exist. They treat him as a fictional character, a historical relic. But that is far from the truth. He remains a dangerous adversary.
