Paul’s Warning to the Elders: Guard the Flock

1-Minute Devotion for Sunday, 3/1/26

In Paul’s last words to the Ephesian elders, he warned them,

“I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God.  Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood. I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock.  Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them.  So be on your guard! Remember that for three years I never stopped warning each of you night and day with tears.” Acts 20:27-31

In His Love, Cindy

All Scripture is from the NIV unless stated otherwise.

  1. These words of warning are as true today as when Paul wrote them. There are more satanic wolves hunting in our world, and in the churches too. In recent times I have found myself having more pastoral care responsibilities; I find it is always useful to check people’s spiritual health as well as their physical health. God bless you richly today my dear friend and sister in Christ 🙏

    1. Thank you, Alan. These words of warning are absolutely as true today as when Paul wrote them! I don’t think most pastors are heeding this warning. My prayer is that they will! Why do you think this is? Blessings, my friend!
