Quote of the Week for 10/22/25
“Wise Christians surround themselves with reminders of God’s goodness as a way to move beyond their pasts.” Pastor David Jeremiah
After Joseph became 2nd in command to Pharaoh in Egypt, he had two sons.
“Joseph named his firstborn Manasseh[a] and said, “It is because God has made me forget all my trouble and all my father’s household.” The second son he named Ephraim[b]and said, “It is because God has made me fruitful in the land of my suffering.” Genesis 41:51-52 Read full chapter
Footnotes
- Genesis 41:51 Manasseh sounds like and may be derived from the Hebrew for forget.
- Genesis 41:52 Ephraim sounds like the Hebrew for twice fruitful.

Yes! Because it is easy to focus on the things we have lost. We have to be intentional to focus on our blessings. God bless you, Olatunde!

Yes, it does! Years ago, when I was going through a rough patch I “happened to” come across a radio station and David Jeremiah was doing a series of lessons on Joseph. It was just what I needed at the time. God has a way of doing that! Blessings, BigSky!

It really is. For anyone who has been deeply hurt in the past, Joseph is a powerful example of how to forgive and thrive. Blessing!
