“Who can speak and have it happen
if the Lord has not decreed it?” Lamentations 3:37 NIV
Although some view declarations as a way to manifest desired outcomes, that’s not what the Bible teaches us. They say, “Start building your faith today by speaking these declarations of faith for your finances, healing and relationships.”
The concept of making declarations, particularly affirmations and decrees, is strongly associated with New Age spirituality.
But as the verse above says, we cannot speak and have it happen if the Lord has not decreed it.

Thank you for shedding light on this topic. I’ve also noticed the influence of “new thought” sneaking into the church. The prosperity gospel often reminds me of “manifesting,” with its emphasis on speaking desires into existence. Yet it misses the heart of surrender to God’s will. Wonderful blog, by the way. I’m so grateful that I found it!

Thank you, Lily, for your encouraging comments. You said, “Yet it misses the heart of surrender to God’s will.” Exactly! And that’s the worst thing about it. God bless you, Lily! 🙏💕

God is still God, and I am not.

Nor am I or anyone else. All these false teachings are “me-centered” instead of God-centered. Thanks for commenting, Bob. God bless you, today! ✝️

In addition to praying for the peace of Jerusalem we should also be praying for the salvation of the Jewish people. There is no separate plan of salvation for the Jews as some false teachers preach.

Yes, we should pray for the Jewish people to recognize that Yeshua (Jesus) is the Messiah! Blessings!
