Rediscovering Your First Love in Faith

1-minute read for Monday, 6/23/25

” I want you to trust me in your times of trouble, so I can rescue you and you can give me glory.” Psalm 50:15 TLB

Note: This is one of the first verses I ever underlined in my Bible decades ago. Do you remember reading a promise in the Bible that you had never read before? It was thrilling! Maybe this is what the book of Revelation is referring to as “your first love”: The thrill of getting to know God through His Word.

“But I have this against you, that you have left your first love.” Revelation 2:4 NASB

What do you think?

In His Love, Cindy

  1. Back in 1985 when the doctors first told me I only had 6 months to live, it drove me to the Word of God. God drew me into a relationship that birthed wonders and amazement’s. It is odd when you think your time is limited just how much boldness it can give you.

To my surprised one preacher caught my attention. He said, “Think about it, God’s Word brought you time and a measure of healing because you survived past the predictions of the doctors.”

I could do nothing but sit in laughter and joy. God poured out His Word into a hurting soul and body and sustained me not just then but all these years. It still brings such joy that tears of joy filling my eyes. So yes, I remember those verses and that first love. To Him be the glory, thanks Cindy for the time of reflection, what a gift that was today. Blessings to you.

Just a side note, several times over the years doctors did not think I would make it through one episode or another, but as you can see God has other plans. Like the Apostle Paul, I long to be with the Lord but until then, the net needs to be filled with treasures out of darkness. Thank you Cindy for your faithfulness in this mission.
