Condoning sin never helped a single sinner find healing. In fact, speaking truth is how we engage in spiritual warfare. It is how we fight the enemy. Standing for the truth isn’t always easy. Backing down from it only strengthens Satan’s grip on those in darkness.
Leading sinners to Christ is our mission, but isn’t standing up for truth also our mission? The truth, found in God’s Word, isn’t popular today. But only truth will set the captive free.
I have little optimism that the world will embrace Christian values as it once did. In fact, things look more and more like the days of Noah. Only revival can change the trajectory we’re on.
“We are living in a time, in an era when there are people who are desperately wicked, and in desperate need of repentance and faith, in desperate need of the Gospel. And we’re being told that the wickedness is, in fact, the Gospel,” … such a worldview is destructive because it not only calls good evil and evil good, but also “alienates people from the only hope that they have.”
Voddie Baucham
Jesus prayed to His Father, saying, “Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth” NIV (John 17:17).
So yes! We can know what is true because the truth is found in God’s Word. We must love the truth more than we love what we want to be true.
To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31-32 NIV Read full chapter
You can make a case for almost anything you want to be true. People do it all the time by taking verses out of context. If you are seeking truth, you won’t do that. Ask yourself, What is my motivation? Is it to prove my opinion is right, or to seek the truth?
The Bible is clear about what constitutes sin. We don’t have to wonder about it. God does this to keep us safe from the consequences of sin. Stop and think for a moment about the consequences of sexual perversion, adultery, transgender ideology, and abortion. There is nothing good to be found.
To stand in evil times, we must love truth. We can’t stand against evil if we compromise.
“Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist …”
Condoning sin never helped a single sinner find healing. Speak truth in love.
In His Love, Cindy

Thanks for standing strong on God’s word. Our culture increasingly confuses identity and behaviour, often substituting the latter for the former. Jesus loved the person, but had no tolerance for the “stuff”. I love what Winston Churchill said about truth: “Truth is incontrovertible. Panic may resent it. Ignorance may deride it. Malice may distort it. But there it is.” Thanks for sharing this powerful post.

Many devout Christians, who no longer attend church services since Covid, seem to be more open to secularistic ideologies that conflict with the Truth of the Word. On the other hand, some church leaders have become more freethinking and share their views with their “flock,”

Cindy, thanks for this. The enemy of our soul was and is not stupid. We have come to this place because little by little the church allowed the demise by a thousand cuts. A little give away here and a little give away there. “What does it hurt, it is not a matter of salvation”. The enemy does not come in a red suit with a pitch fork, but with small temptations, small compromises, which become slippery slopes.
God has sent us many prophets over the years sounding the alarm. Far too many thought they were rigid and too heavenly minded to be any worldly good.
Cindy it is my prayer that God gives you the courage to keep calling for the walk in righteousness, that He may protect you and make you bold, as with all Christians. God bless you sister.

Thank you for your passionate reminder of the importance of truth in our faith. 🙏 You’re absolutely right that standing firm in the truth of God’s Word is essential for spiritual warfare and leading others to Christ. The balance of truth and love is a challenging yet vital aspect of our mission as Christians. As we stand for truth, may we do so with a heart full of compassion, seeking to guide others to the hope and healing found in Jesus. 🌟🕊️
