Verse for Meditation, 6/20/24

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16 KJV

An old minister once said, “It’s not what you say, but what you do and who you are that makes the impact.”

Yes, we are to be holy and turn away from sinful desires. That’s true. But is that what he’s talking about? I think he’s talking about loving your neighbor.

  1. Commentaries are great, but the best commentary on the Word of God is the life of a child of God shining for Father God. Thank you for this beautiful encouragement Cindy, God bless you today sister 🙏

  2. It’s interesting that in the very next chapter (same sermon) Jesus says NOT to do your “acts of righteousness” in front of people. The difference? Motives! That people “may see your good works and glorify GOD,” versus “to be seen by them” and glorify oneself.

    This takes some soul-searching …
