Beware of Creepy AI Jesus

As I was driving along in my car, listening to my favorite Christian radio station, the host asked this question: “Do you think AI Jesus is a good thing?” For the most part, people calling in thought it was. Wait! What?! I was shocked at the responses!

Have you ever googled AI Jesus? If you have any discernment at all, you will be alarmed. To think that Christians would ask this fake Jesus spiritual questions is outrageous.

I hesitate to write on this subject for fear that it might encourage someone to seek it out for answers. Please, beware! This is certainly a “false Jesus”, a “different Jesus”. It is an insult to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And it is an insult to the Word of God, which God has given us.

To ask this AI Jesus for wisdom or advice is nothing short of idol worship, substituting a man-made creation for God’s Holy Word.

You should always look to the source when deciding if something is Biblical. AI Jesus is “made possible by contributions from The Singularity Group,” which is not a Christian organization. That is a big red flag!

As Christians increasingly look to questionable sources for Biblical understanding, I am reminded of the Apostle Paul’s words,

“I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ.  For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the Spirit you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough.” 2 Corinthians 11:3-4 NIV

I would say AI Jesus fits that description perfectly. Paul goes on to say,

“Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.” (vs. 14)

The fact is, we in the church, put up with a lot of things we shouldn’t put up with!

“Because AI never needs a break, it can run through hundreds, thousands, or even millions of tasks extremely quickly, learning a great deal in very little time, and becoming extremely capable at whatever it’s being trained to accomplish.

CSU Global

The question is: What is it being trained to accomplish? We don’t know and that is the problem. AI Jesus is promoted as “a website dedicated to meaningful conversations with Jesus Christ.” Excuse me! You are NOT having a conversation with Jesus Christ! You are having a conversation with a man-made image disguised as Jesus. That right there should scare the pants off of anyone!

“…the image could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed.  It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads,  so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark,” which is the name of the beast or the number of its name…” Revelation 13:15-17

Perhaps you’re thinking, “Why do you always have to be so negative?” My answer to that is, “I’m not being negative. I read my Bible!” In His great mercy, the Lord warns us,

“Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many.”

Read and study the book of Revelation and see what’s coming. Don’t be ignorant of Biblical prophecy. It’s relevant to our day. Jesus says,

“Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.” Revelation 1:3

  1. Wow, Cindy, I had never heard of this disturbing, creepy “Jesus.” You rightly point out that this is yet another form of idol worship.

As it turns out, I wrote something about AI as it relates to plagiarism a couple days ago. Stop by and take a look if you’re interested.

  2. That’s really scary! You never really trust what you see online these days. But you’re absolutely correct, as Christians we should have a discerning spirit. Technology is headed in a scary direction and we as Christians need to be grounded in God’s truth and always look to the Bible for our source of truth. Thank you for the great read!
