  1. Wow, is this relevant to me today! Our power has been off since Monday night, and it’s not expected to be restored until late tomorrow night. As one who is a bit addicted to noise, it’s been a little too quiet for me without radio, videos, etc. I have been dealing with the silence with my guitar and voice and finally getting around to reading a book or two that have been on the back burner. Thankfully, the weather has been perfect. Taking a longer-than-usual walk, I visited with people I don’t usually get a chance to see, and last night a friend came over for a salad dinner (no cooking necessary!) and sang with me on the porch. While we were singing, a neighbor came by and gave us raspberries from his garden. I got to bed earlier than usual, because…well .. it was dark! 🤷

    It all felt a bit like going back in time about a hundred years.

    And of course, I have been talking to Jesus, which people have been doing for thousands of years.

    (gotta go, my phone battery’s draining. 😉)

    1. Oh my! It’s hard to go without power! Fortunately, my power was only out during the night Sunday and came back on Monday morning. I did have to start my day without coffee and Internet! It makes me realize how much I take these things for granted.
      Right as people were arriving for Sunday School, the sirens went off here. Tornado warning! Everyone was ushered into the basement. Then the power went out!
      Everyone was safe and there was no tornado. Thank the Lord. God bless you today, Annie! 🤗

  2. Correction: our power went out Sunday night, too, not Monday. I am a little too attached to my morning coffee, which I made with the help of a tap that was still working (unlike in Michigan where if we lose power, the pump doesn’t work and we have no water, either), our gas range, and some matches. My friend who is a burrista said the line for coffee was around the corner all morning, so I guess not everyone decided to make theirs the old fashioned way. 😉
    How nice, though, that you were at church, surrounded by good fellowship. People are what make these things bearable – maybe even fun. 😏
