“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.” Galatians 6:9-10 NIV (emphasis mine)
My thoughts: Teaching children in your church is a great way to do this!

Praise be to God that He allow people who understood that the public schools get more of our children’s attention then church or home and taught many that is it not enough for instruction at church and that parents cannot leaven church Sunday school alone to teach children the ways of God. We as parents and grandparents must be willing to humble ourselves before God and walk after Him to lead the way to Him.
My parents did not live for Christ but religion. They did not impart or impart a lifestyle of learning from God, but of humanism. That knowledge almost came too late for my own children. When we started to embrace a lifestyle of learning and walking after Christ. It was not well received by our children or extended family members.
Now that our son has children of his own, he admits he was upset with the turn of event in our lives that caused us to give up worldly ways, but that now with his own children he understands it.
It is my prayer for great Sunday school teachers, yet for parents to walk the talk at home.

You’re right! It takes both. A church can only do so much for a child. The parents’ responsibility is greater. Grandparents can have a huge influence on their grandchildren, even if they live far away. I know mine certainly did!
