“The word of the Lord came to me: “Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel who are now prophesying. Say to those who prophesy out of their own imagination: ‘Hear the word of the Lord! This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Woe to the foolish prophets who follow their own spirit and have seen nothing!” Ezekiel 13:1-3 NIV (emphasis mine)
My thoughts: These verses were part of my daily Bible reading today. God does not tolerate prophesying out of your own imagination. Yet there are churches today that profess to teach you how to prophesy. Better think twice about that!
In His Love, Cindy

I read an article written by a man who had been in one of Bill Johnson’s early churches (that he evidently left in order to start Bethel), and he said that Bill specifically encouraged them to “imagine what Jesus would say to the person and then say it to them” as the means to learn how to prophecy. Pretty eye-opening when you set that next to the verses you quoted above!

Thanks for sharing that, Craig. If only people would read and cherish the Word of God! That is the anecdote to deception. God bless you today, Brother!
