“In peace I will lie down and sleep,
for you alone, Lord,
make me dwell in safety.” Psalm 4:8 NIV
My thoughts: Many years ago when my son was a baby, I found a long snake skin in my closet. The only way I could sleep was to meditate on this verse. We never found the snake. Maybe an angel chased him out!

That was the first time I found a snake skin in that house. The second (and last) time, I found one in the legs of a folded up card table that I was getting out for a church get together. I lived in that house 9 years and both my children were born while we lived there. Fortunately, we never saw a live snake in the house. God protected us in many ways during those years. I will never forget all He has done for me!

I hate to think how I might have reacted if I didn’t know to trust in the Lord. I guess I would have had a nervous break down! The Lord carried me through many hard times back then.

I meditate on this verse a lot. I have an upcoming doctor’s appointment in orthopedics and gynecology; experiencing some health concerns. Seeking God fervently to calm my anxious thoughts and fears about the worst outcomes. I get like this every time I have to see a doctor about a health issue/concern. And it doesn’t help that I’m using Dr. Google for answers. My husband is praying and reminding me to keep my focus on Christ amidst distractions. “Lord I believe, help my unbelief” Mark 9:24

Tiffany, I am praying for you now. Meditate on God’s Word. Fight fear with faith. When you meditate on His promises you are fighting fear.
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV
Love, prayers and hugs, Cindy

Oh my!!! Yikes!! Yup your only choice was to give it to God and entrust it to Him, otherwise you’d have been on pins and needles all the while.

Cindy, I rest in this promise! Like you with the snakes and all of life’s other “predators” that can bite, sting, or hurt. There’s no real peace outside of Christ. I’m dreading this week’s appts; yet, today, Jesus reminded me “I am with you always.” When his presence is in my consciousness I begin to feel the peace. When I take my gaze off his eyes, my humanity holds me hostage! God bless you, dear friend! 💛🙏

Ahhhh, I love this. We have no idea the things that God protects us from. I think I’m okay not knowing because it’s already so hard to sleep with all the worries in my head. I am thankful for verses like this one too. I often repeat Psalm 56:3-4 over and over again. I will add Psalm 4:8 to that now. xoxo

“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.
In God, whose word I praise—
in God I trust and am not afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me?”
One of my favorites, too! Blessings, Heidi!

Yikes! I agree-your son’s Guardian Angel likely was watching over him. 🙂
