and the meditation of my heart
be pleasing to you,
O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.” Psalm 19:14 NLT

“Let the words of my mouth…be acceptable in your sight”. Boy do I need to think about this one! How many times have I said the wrong things. It’s so easy to jump to conclusions. React before I have all the facts. Misinterpret a comment then blowing it out of proportion! And then usually feeling like a real low life afterwards. If only I would learn to think before I speak, or better yet remember that God is listening! And commit Ephesians 4:29 to memory! “Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear”. ” And then there’s… “and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight”. Oh how I wish I could say that the things I dwell on are always acceptable to the Lord, but I’d be lying! Instead of capturing my thoughts and making them obedient to Christ, as 2 Corinthians 10:5 suggests, I allow my thoughts to wander down paths they shouldn’t go, I allow the devil to influence my thinking and I think on past mistakes or hurts, I create scenarios and worry about things that may never happen. When instead I need to, set my mind on things above, not on earthly things (Colossians 3:2), or allow the Lord to renew my mind, (Romans 12:2).

The important thing is that you know the Scriptures that apply and your desire is to obey the Lord. Sometimes I like to write down the Scriptures that God is reminding me about and place them where I can see them in order to remind myself. God bless you today, Mary!
