“He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;

A mother bird will spread her wings over her babies to protect them from storms and predators. She will allow herself to be wounded to protect them. She keeps them warm and sheltered, and the baby birds feel safe in her embrace. Such is God’s fierce love for humanity. From Jeremiah Study Bible Notes
