Verses for Meditation, 10/5/23

“But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his trickery, your minds will be led astray from sincere and pure devotion to Christ.  For if one comes and preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted, this you tolerate very well!” 2 Corinthians 11:3-4 NASB Read full chapter

  1. Cindy, I just watched a video a few days ago about false teachings and practices creeping into the Church. It’s astonishing and heartbreaking to see the way people swallow lies and let strange spirits into their “worship.” I have been to churches where someone will say, “I feel the Lord telling me …” Forget “feelings,” how about dusting off that Bible and seeing what God REALLY said?
    (Pardon the rant. 🙄)

    1. I’m glad you are already aware of this. Too many people just go along with anyone they like and any message they like. But Satan is crafty. Those false teachings will be alongside true teaching or how much they love Jesus.

  2. This is such a great verse for meditation. It’s very sneaky how the “other Jesus” that some people preach CAN bring (false) comfort, such as the preachers that teach that with “enough faith” Jesus will heal all their ails. Healing sounds very comforting, but it isn’t always in God’s Will. May you have a blessed day!

    1. You are right, Lilly. Jesus said, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.” (Luke 9:23) I want to know the Jesus of the Bible and I know you do, too! Blessings!
