“The case can be made that every corruption of biblical Christianity begins by compromising the principle of sufficiency… Every deviation from Christianity established by Christ and the apostles begins by adding to the Bible or by taking away from it. Every deviation is the Bible plus or minus something.”

In Deuteronomy 4:2 Moses declares, “You shall not add to the word which I am commanding you, nor take away from it, that you may keep the commands of the Lord your God which I command you.”
“I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll. And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll.” Revelation 22:18-19 NIV

Yes, it is. Many times I have heard something preached and thought “Where’s that in the Bible?” Blessings, Tiffany!

That’s a fabulous quote by the unknown author and the words of Moses further emphasizes God’s command. 🙂
