Quote of the Week, 9/28/22

With discernment comes division. A person who seeks to be discerning must be willing to suffer the effects of this division. It will divide not only believer from unbeliever, but it may even divide a discerning believer from one who is undiscerning. It will separate the mature from the immature, the naïve from the prudent.” Tim Challies, The Discipline of Spiritual Discernment

    1. Thank you. Tim Challies’ book, The Discipline of Spiritual Discernment, is excellent. A lack of discernment in the Church is responsible for many Christians believing every teaching that is presented by a great personality. It may be entertaining, but is it Biblical? Thanks for commenting. Blessings, Manu!

      1. I agree Cindy. There is so much that is not in accordance with scripture that is taught and readily accepted by people. I do think people want to latch onto what aligns with their views/ nature and not challenge them.
I have not read this book and am going to check it out. Thanks Cindy.

  1. Thank you for this quote and the idea for another book to read. We have so much argument within the church and the discerning true believer wonders how this can be within a group of “Christians.”
