It’s Thanksgiving, What Could Go Wrong?

Cooking isn’t my favorite thing to do, and Thanksgiving was no exception. My adult children prepared most of the dishes. All I had to do was make the dressing.

Listen carefully. If there’s one item you don’t want to leave out of dressing, it’s the butter! Of course, that’s exactly what I did. It wasn’t just bad. It was ‘nobody could eat it’ bad! It was sort of like a giant hard crouton!

But it made me think. What other things in life do we leave out? Are they vitally important, yet we leave them out anyway? Do we leave out reading our Bible, going to Church, or prayer? These are life “ingredients” that will make or break our time in this world.

“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him,  rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.” Colossians 2:6-7 NIV

Father, Help us to never leave out the most important things in this life: prayer, the Word, and fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Christ. Create in us a pure heart that is pleasing to you and bind us together in love. And of course, help us to be thankful. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

With Love, Cindy
