The Chosen + The Shift – Ingrid McCullough

There is a lot about Dallas Jenkins you may not know. This most informative article is a must read.

Reasoned Cases For Christ

I watched Season 1 of “The Chosen” and I’ve watched the first 4 episodes of Season 2. Although I did note some “liberties” taken, in general, I have enjoyed the series. However, the article below raises some serious discernment issues that I was not aware of. If you are a fan of “The Chosen”, I would recommend you seriously consider the valid concerns that are raised, by Ingrid McCullough at the link below:

  1. Very interesting post. I’m relating to her Bible-based perspective. Like her, I am a Bible-only Word of God. Interpretation, rightly dividing – yes. Extra-biblical dialog and action? No, not for me. This is why I have despised Hollywood’s versions (ie, The Ten Commandments, Noah). They never get it right, and they think they can and should add to or revise what God gave us.
I have not seen any of The Chosen, although several of my solid-Christian church friends advocate it.

    1. “The Chosen” is very popular, but at the very least, people should be aware of the things McCullough points out in her excellent article. I was turned off by it and now that I’ve read McCullough’s article, I’m glad I didn’t watch it. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this, Kathy. Blessings, my friend!

  2. I suspected this to be true of the series and for that reason, I never watched an episode. Now that I have read this article, I feel satisfied with my decision. Thanks for saving me the grief of wondering. The phrases “itching ears” and “a form of godliness” come to mind. Such is the state of our world and we need to remain on alert. Our enemy is a crouching lion…

    1. Yes he is! I had a bad feeling about it when I saw it the first time and didn’t watch it anymore. Unfortunately, many Christians are enthralled with it. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
