You cannot make yourself feel something you do not feel, but you can make yourself do right in spite of your feelings.”
Pearl S. Buck
Pearl was the daughter of missionaries to China. She wrote my favorite book (which I have read many times), The Good Earth. She received the Nobel Prize for literature in 1938. This quote is meaningful to me because it reminds me that God is pleased with obedience even when our feelings are absent. That is faith.

I do, too. Feelings aren’t dependable. Sometimes we just have to plow on. Blessings Perth!

Yes. So many times we may cut our blessings short, due to feelings. May we choose obedience over feelings each and every time. Thank you for this reminder. Blessings!

I think God is especially pleased when we make our wills override our emotions and obey Him ANYWAY. 😉
