1-Minute Devotion for Monday, 4/13/26
“My son, if you will receive my words
And treasure my commandments within you,
Make your ear attentive to wisdom;
Incline your heart to understanding.
For if you cry out for insight,
And raise your voice for understanding;
If you seek her as silver
And search for her as for hidden treasures;
Then you will understand the fear of the Lord,
And discover the knowledge of God.
For the Lord gives wisdom;
From His mouth come knowledge and understanding.” Proverbs 2:1-6 NASB
“The basic meaning of the word wisdom (Heb.hokmah) in the OT is skill. Those who wove the tabernacle tapestries had hokmah (Ex. 35:35). Those who prepared the high priest’s garments had hokmah (Ex. 28:3). Those who piloted ships at sea had hokmah (Ezek. 27:8). In other words, wisdom is a skill given by God to accomplish a task.” Jeremiah Study Bible Notes
